Algeria #21, 22 Full Sheets. A trio of large multiples including full sheets of 100 of both the 45c and 50c, plus a partial sheet of 50 of the 50c value, all overprint issues from the 1924-1926 series (overprinted on French stamps). Of particular issue is the sheet format, which gives both gutter-pairs and inter-pane plate numbers. An eye-catching group, all with clean Never Hinged gum, but we did note several spots of separation on the sheets (still holding together well for near 100 years old). Catalogued as single stamps only, with no premium given for the sheets / gutter pairs, plate numbers etc. 2024 Scott US$415.00 = $560.25

Andorra - French Administration. The balance of a dealer’s holding that we have been selling off over the past year. This was partially in the process of being worked, and we are offering it as-received. There is a 16-page stockbook with a group of mint postage dues, a courier folder with some circa 1992 "new issues" still in their original glassines. There is an assortment of about 100 unaddressed, cacheted first day covers circa 1963-1972, a small box contains a couple hundred "102" cards with a stock identified by Scott and Michel (ignore the pricing) with mostly mint issues up to the early 2000’s. Finally, there is a double-sided stockpage with a wide range of mint issues and even a deluxe proof of the 18fr (#122). Lots of duplication here. Expect some of the earlier material to be Hinged, otherwise condition is very clean. Estimate = $180.00

Antigua and Bahamas - With a bit of Barbuda and Barbados on trimmed "Minkus" album pages with issues from King George V to about 1971. A total of 272 mint and used stamps. Better Antigua includes the King George VI set to £1 and Queen Elizabeth to $4.80 (both mint). The Bahamas includes King George VI definitives to 5/-, "Seal of the Colony" to 2/- (both used), mint King George 1948 set to 5/- and the first two "long" QEII sets to £1. This collection was meticulously catalogued in 2009, and a thorough check has shown that this is just about a perfect match with the current catalogue value. Owner’s older 2009 Scott US$516.45 = $697.21

Australia #132. Perfectly centered partial CDS used example of the 1932 issue 5sh gray green "Sydney Bridge" high value commemorative. This stamp is almost always found off centre. 2024 Scott US$275.00 = $371.25

5
Australia #163/473. Lovely first day cover collection with 165 covers issued 1937-1971. Almost all with private cachets, and many are unaddressed, such as the sterling "Explorers" set with singles up to the £2 King (our old Seven Seas listed this at A$200.00), the 5/- Cattle on cream paper and a number of Australian Antarctic Territory issues. Very attractive cachets, with little duplication (some duplicates are because of different cachets). Estimate = $200.00

6
Australia #219-221. Very Fine mint Never Hinged 10sh red violet, £1 deep blue and £2 green 1949-1950 "Arms" high values. All of these were issued on different dates which is why the 5sh low value (#218, catalogue value $4.50) is not here. 2024 Scott US$249.50 = $336.85
History

7
Australia #365-379. Very Fine mint Lightly Hinged complete 1963-1965 "QEII, Birds and Navigators" set of 15. This is the most iconic pre-decimal QEII series. 2024 Scott US$244.65 = $330.30

Australia - Consecutive quintet of hardcover annual year sets covering 2010 to 2014, in their original sleeves (most have been opened, but the stamps are untouched in their separate packs). Each contain about 100 stamps per year, including 7-10 souvenir sheets. Individual stamps have face values up to A$10.00. Includes lots of topical appeal (e.g. animals, sports, flora, stamp on stamp), etc. Each book is about 48-pages to enhance your knowledge of the stamps and what they commemorate. We don’t often see down-under sets that are this recent. With no premium for the albums, the total face value of the stamps is AUD$486.35 = $447.44
History

9
Australia - Sterling-era used mounted collection on quadrilled pages in dark blue springback album, including some mid-level values of ‘Roos, KGV "Heads", 1930’s commemoratives and "Robes" up to £2. Complementing this from the decimal era are 8 assorted complete booklets of the "Famous Australians", "Prime Ministers" and the revalued 5c on 4c orange QEII definitive (these catalogue over $200.00 as panes) and a set and souvenir sheet of the 1970 Captain Cook issue on a cacheted First Day Cover. Estimate = $140.00
History

10
Australian States - Two black stockpages contain just over 100 assorted Aussie-states, including medium values and obvious potential for perforation varieties and cancels. Includes Western Australian "swans" (19), New South Wales (21, one with an "OS" perfin), Victoria (16), Tasmania (9), South Australia (8) and (leaving the best for last) Queensland (44) which has lots of "Chalon" issues and the only 4 mint stamps in the lot. Usual mixed condition, but great eye-appeal. Estimate = $160.00
History

11
Austria - Tirol Parcel Control stamps issued between 1919-1921, as a method to control the export of parcels with goods, which was temporarily forbidden after the Great War. The Tyrolean government ordered these labels to use the small labels for postal parcels and the larger ones for railway parcels. These are not listed in Scott and are considered locals. This wholesale lot of about 30 panes/large blocks/multiples (with 25 - 50 stamps in a complete pane - probably 1000 stamps in total). Includes both designs, in mint, cancelled to order and with revaluations. The mint sheet file that houses them is done, and some of the panes are adhered to each other, others to the file. Some appear that they will come clean fairly easily, others will require soaking. A terrific study opportunity. Estimate = $150.00

Bermuda #1/456. Mounted mint and used collection from Queen Victoria up to 1980. Starts off with some assorted stamps, including a couple of attractive blocks with plate number. The King George V has a hit and miss group of common and better singles. The collection gets more complete in the King George VI era, with a few nice used keyplates. The Elizabethan era often has a mint set, followed by a used set on the following page, until about 1976 when the issues are typically mint only (including a couple of souvenir sheets). Overall condition is excellent. The little duplication is probably due to possible shade differences. Mint issues are in black mounts and are never hinged after 1970. Better singles include #125, #125a, #127a (all used) and #162 (both mint and used). Individual catalogue values up to $60.00 a stamp. All in a pair of red Rapkin springback binders. Total 2023 Scott US$1290.40 = $1,742.04
History

Bermuda #123/128a. Group of 11x King George VI high-value "Key Plates" with six copies of perf 13 (left side of the page, with an extra shade of the 2/- and missing only the 12/6) and perf 14 (right side, missing only the 10/-). Stanley Gibbons lists more shades than Scott, we have counted at the lowest values only. A couple of the values are Never Hinged, with the rest being Hinged which range from light to small hinge remnants, which in no way detracts for the attractiveness and freshness of these great stamps. 2023 Scott US$443.75 = $599.06

British Antarctic Territory #1-15, 24. Very Fine mint Lightly Hinged / Never Hinged complete 1963 QEII ½ p to £1 "Transportation and Map" set of 15 and the additional £1 "H.M.S. Endurance" single high value issue. Note that all the 5sh to £1 high values in this lot are all Very Fine Never Hinged. 2024 Scott US$332.15 = $448.40

British Caribbean - Part 1: Amongst the most popular groupings that have come from this collector. He loved the stamps and Islands of the Caribbean (and British Honduras/Belize) and bought almost everything he could get his hands on, and then set them aside. Includes purchases from auction houses, dealers and the local post offices, there is value in this chaos. The Belize and British Honduras material includes used classics to modern mint (with great topical interest such as birds and butterflies, and some large blocks and panes of mint). There is also Antigua (with and without Barbuda), some very nice Montserrat, British Virgin Island, St. Kitts and Nevis, Cayman Islands and a few multi-colony assortments. There is an attractive group of King George V issues of Turks & Caicos Islands, still on its original auction card. Barbados is represented with blocks of the 1995 WWII anniversary issue (planes). There is a mounted collection of Anguilla and another group from the Bahamas. Outstanding! Estimate = $350.00

British Caribbean - Part 2: Amongst the most popular groupings that have come from this collector. He loved the stamps and Islands of the Caribbean (plus British Honduras/Belize and Bermuda) and bought almost everything he could get his hands on, and then set them aside. Includes purchases from auction houses, dealers and the local post offices. Noted mint Bermuda (couple of mint KGVI "Keystones" and some early QEII). There is a nice group of earlier Turks and Caicos Islands, and some mid-1980’s Antigua and Barbuda, and some earlier St. Kitts-Nevis, and the QV-KGV Antigua is quite worthwhile. There is a small group of complete booklets, a bundle of mint 1c sheets from British Honduras overprinted for "Hurricane Hattie", plus a bit of Anguilla. No lot of this type from this collection would be complete without a healthy amount of British Honduras and Belize, and this lot does not disappoint. Estimate = $300.00

British Commonwealth - A box of opposites. A Great Britain pre-decimal collection back to KEVII in a nice Stanley Gibbons album, contrasted with an album of "Royal International" gold foil first day covers. A battered stockbook with used mostly Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania (noted over 30 used copies of £1 #117) contrasted by a collection for the 1982 Commonwealth Day. A collection of 1997 Princess Di issues (high original cost) and some mint sheets of Zambia are contrasted with a very nice bundle of dealer cards and bidboard lots with lots of classics that are needing to be found. An eclectic mix! Estimate = $200.00

British Commonwealth - A fascinating mix of collections and retired dealer stock, filling a bankers box. Starting with a small box of a "bit of everything" on "102" cards / glassine envelopes, etc. with a very nice assortment of dealer material, that appears to have been priced in the 1980’s with lots of items in the $10.00-$20.00 range. This is followed by a pair of battered Scott Specialty albums containing an array of mint and used early Elizabethan sets, partial sets and singles. There is then a couple of bundles of loose album pages or manila stock pages with similar material. We noted a small "sampler" springback, with a couple of stamps from each colony in the British Empire (not all common stamps, includes a used Bluenose). Finally, there is a stock of used South Africa and a handful of envelopes with wholesale quantities of Malaysian stamps. A hunter’s paradise. Estimate = $180.00
History

20
British Commonwealth - Few hundred mint and used stamps nicely laid out on Vario-brand stockpages. Mostly King Geroge VI to mid-Elizabethan period. A bit of everything from across the Empire. The most intriguing piece may be the complete Australia 1927 opening of Parliament booklet – one pane is never hinged, the other has multiple first day cancels. There is also solid material including souvenir sheets, gutter pairs, topical interest. We noted some nice British and Isles, with some very nicely used larger, modern, items, as well as nice material from the Pacific, Africa, Caribbean, etc. Meticulously catalogued by the owner. 2023 Scott US$1156.35 = $1,561.07

21
British Commonwealth - Mint Motherlode. All mint (and mostly NEVER HINGED) duplicated stock of a few thousand 19th to mid-20th century issues from over 30 different British Commonwealth colonies/countries, running from "B-Z". While there are no complete sets or particularly high catalogue value singles here, there are a large number of Never Hinged stamps, many in multiples, valued as Hinged only. An amazingly fresh lot, all carefully organized on manila stock sheets with individual countries and catalogue value subtotals listed on a hand-written inventory sheet. Unchecked for varieties. Take a good look at the scans to appreciate the quality of this offering. 2024 Scott US$4,488.50 = $6,059.50

British Commonwealth Pacific Islands - A trio of binders with First Day covers from the 1940’s issues up to the end of 1979. Norfolk Island (107 covers), Christmas Island (33 covers), Cocos (Keeling) Islands (8 covers), Nauru (15 covers) and Papua New Guinea (101 covers). A very complete run (including the higher values), almost all have cachets, with very little duplication and a couple of pieces of postal stationery. All nicely mounted. Not often seen material. Total of 264 covers. Estimate = $180.00
History

23
British Honduras #B1-B5. Registered cover / OHMS envelope sent to Toronto with a complete set of the only semi-postal series issued by British Honduras. These overprinted stamps raised funds to provide relief for the city of Belize which was levelled by a hurricane. The stamps are hard enough to find used, with a Scott catalogue value of US$112.50. However, Stanley Gibbons catalogues them with a price of £ 110.00 with a premium of "at least 10x" for usage on cover, which would bring this to a nearly $1500.00 cover. A bit of natural acidity on the reverse, does not affect the appearance. Estimate = $150.00
History

24
British South Africa Company/Rhodesia #43-49. A lovely, mint Hinged array of the 1896 Matabele Rebellion Provisionals overprinted on Cape of Good Hope. This is a compete run from ½p to 1/, with extras and includes a very interesting horizontal shift on one ½p resulting in a split overprint (counted as regular in the cat. value). Cut off from postal authorities in Salisbury by the Rebellion, the Bulawayo post office ordered these overprints from the Cape, which it still had communication, to avoid running out of supply. They were used in Bulawayo during the uprising and then later elsewhere. The overprint plate had six different clichés; the consignor has not checked for these, but no doubt several clichés are present here. 12 stamps in total, generally Fine to Very Fine (with one rounded corner on one 4p noted for the record). Owner's Scott US$573.00 = $773.55

Canada #15/321 plus Back of the Book. You have to admire a collector who put’s the "back of the book" material at the front of their album. This used collection is partly collection, partly accumulation. The Airmail and Special Delivery issues are complete and often come with multiples. Returning to the regular issues, the Queen Victoria is spotty, but noted 8c Leaf, 5c Jubilee and QV numerals with 8c and 10c. The EdwardVII issue goes to 20c as does the 1908 Quebec issue (missing the 10c). Noted a Bluenose, and all the dollar values to 1951. A number of Western cancels were seen. All in a green Rapkin springback binder. Estimate =

Owner’s older 2009 Scott US$516.45 =

Estimate =

Estimate =

2023 Scott US$443.75 =

Estimate =

Estimate =

Estimate =

2023 Scott US$1156.35 =
