Canada #22, 25, 27, 28, 29. Attractive used quintet of QV Large Queens including the 1c brown red, 3c red, 6c dark brown, 12 ½c blue and 15c grey violet. The 12 ½c is particularly nice, with tidy "5" 2-ring postmark (Hamilton). A couple of minor perf faults, but overall a clean group. Unchecked for better papers / shades. 2025 Scott US$515.00 = $695.25
History

52
Canada #22a. Sound used example of the 1c brown red Large Queen on Bothwell watermarked paper. Shows the full "LS" of the watermark "E. & G. BOTHWELL CLUTHA MILLS". A very elusive Large Queen variety. 2025 Scott US$500.00 = $675.00
History

53
Canada #26iv Variety. F/VF appearing centered used example of the 1875 issued 5c olive green QV Large Queen, perf 11.75x12 (more exactly, 11.7x12) with horizontal mesh. The Unitrade listing is a bit out of alignment on this sub-listing, listing the horizontal mesh variety (#25v) as perf 11.5x12, when it the horizontal mesh is actually on the 11.75x12 listing (#25iv). Unitrade catalogues 25v horizontal mesh at $750.00 for fine. Light horizontal crease, but still a nice example of this variety. Estimate = $150.00
History

54
Canada #28a. Fresh and F/VF appearing used example of the watermarked 12½c blue Large Queen, showing portion of the letter "& G" (inverted) of the "E. & G. BOTHWELL CLUTHA MILLS" watermark. Moderately cancelled and very decently centered. Pressed out crease and few short perfs. 2025 Scott US$450.00 = $607.50
History

55
Canada #34. Mint sheet-margin inscription block of 16 of the 1/2c Small Queen. Full "British American Bank Note Co. Montreal" inscription in left selvedge. Several hinge reinforcements, but still an attractive positional inscription block. Conservatively catalogued as 16x single stamps. 2025 Scott US$360.00 = $486.00
History

56
Canada #34, 35, 36, 41, 43, 45. Fine+ mint Hinged / Hinge Remnant selection of Small Queens, including two shades of the 10 value. A couple small perf faults and the second 10c (on right) has a thin along the lower perfs, but overall a tidy offering. 2025 Scott US$1,777.50 = $2,399.65
History

57
Canada #34/85. F/VF mint Hinged/Never Hinged assembly of QV era "Small Queens to Maps" with a dozen stamps neatly arranged on a stockpage. One minor perf fault on a 1/2c Leaf, but overall very clean with some VF+ centered individual stamps here. See owner's inventory sheet for a break-down of Hinged / Never Hinged. Owner's Unitrade = $1,138.00
History

58
Canada #34/86. Used Victorian holding of 735x Small Queens to "Maps" including several better shades / postmarks etc. All neatly arranged on stockpages as assembled by a collector many years ago (including an intact 3c Small Queen lot from Bidboard #1467!). Expect the odd fault, but seemingly unchecked for better shades / perfs / postmarks etc. Estimate = $200.00
History

59
Canada #40d (x2), 40e. A trio of perf 11½x12, 10c Small Queens including 2x #40d (magenta) and #40e (pale milky rose lilac). A pretty trio, the magenta examples being a deep shade, and the centrally pictured example well centered. 2025 Scott US$1,200.00 = $1,620.00
History

60
Canada #43, 44. FVG/Fine mint Never Hinged pairs of the 6c chestnut and 8c violet black QV Small Queens. Good colour on both, with interesting offset on the back of the 6c value. There is a drastic price difference between Unitrade and Scott on these, so we have opted to estimate the lot. Estimate = $140.00
History

61
Canada #44a. Fine mint OG Hinged example of the 8c blue gray QV Small Queen. An attractive example of this often elusive mint stamp. Small toning spot LR corner, mentioned for the record. 2025 Scott US$425.00 = $573.75
History

62
Canada #45, 45a. F/VF mint Hinged duo of 10c Small Queens, including the brown red (#45) and dull rose (#45a). The brown red (#45) has NH appearing gum, but it has been redistributed, while the dull rose (#45a) has original gum, hinged with some gum loss at top from hinging. That being said, both have great eye appeal, with well above average centering and freshness. 2025 Scott US$1275.00 = $1,721.25
History

63
Canada #46, 47. Mint quartet of (two of each) of the 20c vermilion and 50c deep blue 1893 Widow's Weeds issues, with a range of hinging (as noted by the consignor). The LL example of the 50c value regummed, hinged and so conservatively catalogued as used. 2025 Scott US$1275.00 = $1,721.25
History

64
Canada #50/62. A dozen different used Jubilees. Ranges from the 1/2c up to the $2.00 value, missing only the 50c. Unfortunately the dollar value is a space filler, which we have not counted. An occasional perf fault here and there, plus some mixed centering. Most collections that we see stop at the 50c, so this will be an inexpensive way to take the next step! 2024 Scott US$1,476.00 = $1,992.60
History

65
Canada #50-59, 85, 86. F/VF mint Hinged group of 1897 Queen Victoria Jubilee issues (1/2c to 20c inclusive), plus five 1898 Map stamps (in a variety of shades). Some very pretty individual stamps here. 2025 Scott US$1,502.50 = $2,048.40

Canada #53 Imprint Block. F/VF mint Never Hinged upper sheet-margin block of four of the 1897 QV 3c bright rose, with full "OTTAWA - No. 2" plate inscription. Valued as 4x NH singles, but certainly worth more as an inscription block. 2025 Scott US$300.00 = $405.00
History

68
Canada #53 PROOF. VF example of the 1897 QV Jubilee 3c bright rose Plate Proof on india paper, mounted on card, in upper sheet-margin block of four, with full "OTTAWA - No. 2" inscription in selvedge. There is a vertical crease between the stamps, from when these sheets were stored before auctioned in the 1990 American Bank Note Company archive sale, this the only way to get this inscription block is with vertical crease. The basic catalogue value for 4x singles is $200.00, with Unitrade noting that inscription blocks (on regular stamps) are "scarce". Estimate = $250.00
History

69

British Commonwealth - Great Britain, Canada and assorted colonies in a 16-page Uni-Safe stockbook and a binder with a group of souvenir sheets. The best is the QV and KEVII Great Britain, but there is a mix of mostly used material from "the Empire" including items issued into the 1990's. Appears to have been one collector’s duplicates. Many nice cancels and better stamps throughout. A conservative valuation would be US$3000.00 in catalogue value. The perfect lot for any keen collector or dealer, with lots of easily recognizable value. Estimate =

*On our great bidboard page you will notice that we have included a declining clock that displays the time remaining in the sale, subject to the addition of overtime. There is an automatic 3 minute bidding extension if a bid is submitted on any lot within the last 3 minutes on the bidding clock. These time extensions will continue to occur until there is a 3 minute period during which no bidding takes place. We expect overtime with this type of bidding will last two to three hours in extra bidding time. This extra time will allow you to make sure you get the lots you really want to get right away.
