Africa - Balance of a consignment, noting a nice group of used French and independent Cameroons (with some Airmails), mint Belgian Congo, Liberia, plus several envelopes and about 100x "102" cards with a potential-laden mish-mash of Central and Northern Africa mostly pre-1970 items. Finishes with a small handful of Harris album pages with a smattering from a range of countries. For those who like to explore and find "nuggets". Estimate = $150.00 $10.00
Africa - Part A: Between 2009 and 2011 unknown operators produced a series of souvenir and mini-sheets that were not authorized by the issuing government and were sold on the philatelic market with an eye to topical collectors. Multiple notices have been filed with the UPU and the material is not listed in Scott. However, these are professional produced products with a light gum and a printed cancel (which will fool nobody) with classic themes such as animals, plants, domestic cats and dogs, space, chess, butterflies, athletics, etc. Consider them to be like labels or Cinderellas. The sheets in this lot are from Rwanda (60 different), Djibouti (72), Ivory Coast (16), Somalia (8), Benin (13) and Chad (4), for a total of 173 mint never hinged souvenir sheets. Estimate = $150.00 $16.00
Africa - Part B: Between 2009 and 2011 unknown operators produced a series of souvenir and mini-sheets that were not authorized by the issuing government and were sold on the philatelic market with an eye to topical collectors. The sheets in this lot are from Burundi (75 different) Congo (90 different) for a total of 165 mint never hinged souvenir sheets. Estimate = $150.00 $10.00
Albania #35/490. Treasure Trove of 495 mint Hinged (mostly Lightly) 1913-1950 stamps arranged in black mounts on home-made album pages. High-quality material, including souvenir sheets, semi-postals, airmail, postage due and special delivery. The catalogue value adds up to US$5352.85 ($7226.00 CDN), but use a cautious eye as these early overprints are known to have good counterfeits. A very clean offering. Estimate = $500.00 $95.00
Argentina - Group of 177 mostly used early issues, from the 1850’s to 1910, all hinged on old-time album pages. Includes many better throughout, but a watchful eye needs to be here as reprints and forgeries of some of the earlier issues were noted. The owner’s catalogue value is over $3600.00, without taking into consideration the reprints / forgeries. Expect the odd fault, as found in these old-time holdings, but a nice opportunity to sort of an original holding. Offered as received. Estimate = $250.00 $55.00
Australia #1/288. Selection of 208 used stamps from the 1913-1956 period, all neatly arranged and identified on four stockpages (two double-side sheets). A nice range of material, which includes "Roos" and George V "Heads", as well as some nicely cancelled / postmarked issues throughout. 2024 Scott US$1031.05 = $1,391.90 $30.00
Australian States - New South Wales - A dozen 1851-1856 imperforate issues, arranged and identified by the owner on a single stockpage. An attractive grouping, but as these issues have been notoriously forged, use a cautious eye when examining the page. The owner's catalogue value adds up to US$2532.50 ($3418.85 CDN), but we have opted to estimate this lot. Estimate = $250.00 $30.00
Australian States - New South Wales - Early selection of 61 Queen Victoria 1860-1907 issues, including the "back of the book" B1 semi-postal (1897), neatly arranged and identified on a double sided stockpage. Several better noted throughout, with care put in by the owner to identify the often confusing perforations and watermarks. Expect a few minor faults, but anything major was "weeded" out. 2024 Scott US$768.15 = $1,037.00 $26.00
Australian States - Queensland - Early selection of 81 Queen Victoria 1860-1909 (mostly used) issues, neatly arranged and identified on a double sided stockpage, including different perforations and watermarks. The first two look to be trimmed examples of the early perforated stamps (to appear as the better imperforate issues) and were not counted in the total catalogue value. Expect the odd small fault, as is often found on these issues, but overall a fairly clean offering. Total 2024 Scott US$986.85 = $1,332.25 $55.00
Australian States - South Australia #16/152. Early mint and (mostly) used selection of 66 QV stamps from the 1860-1912 period, neatly arranged and identified on a double sided stocksheet, included a couple official stamps. Condition is above average for this era, but expect the odd small fault. 2024 Scott US$675.05 = $911.30 $65.00
Australian States - Tasmania #2/117. Selection of 83 stamps, mostly used from the 1853-1912 period, all neatly laid-out and identified on a double sided Vario stocksheet. Expect some small faults, especially in the older material, and possibly a reprint or forgery mixed in as well. The owner has catalogued these out at US$1762.00 ($2378.70 CDN), but due to the nature of this lot (condition and possible counterfeits), we have decided to put a conservative estimate on the lot instead. Estimate = $150.00 $32.00
Australian States - Victoria #3a/232. Interesting array / selection of 149 mostly used from the 1850-1912 period, all neatly arranged and identified 4 stockpages (2 double-sided sheets). Expect some small faults, especially in the older material, and possibly a reprint or forgery mixed in as well. The owner has catalogued these out at US$3550.90 ($4793.70 CDN), but due to the nature of this lot (condition and possible counterfeits), we have decided to put a conservative estimate on the lot instead. Estimate = $250.00 $80.00
Australian States - Western Australia #3/103. Group of 120 stamps, mostly used from the 1854-1912 period, all neatly laid-out and identified on three stocksheets. Expect some small faults, especially in the older material, and possibly a reprint or forgery mixed in as well. The owner has catalogued these out at US$2383.30 ($3622.45 CDN), but due to the nature of this lot (condition and possible counterfeits), we have decided to put a conservative estimate on the lot instead. Estimate = $200.00 $95.00

Belgian Congo #1/322 plus Back of the Book. Nicely mounted collection in unusual 23-ring "Philac" album, covering a mix of mint and used issues for the length of the Colonial period (plus a touch of Ruanda-Urundi issues). Very good coverage throughout, with many sets, lots of nice cancels with good semi-postal, airmail and postage due coverage. Most are mounted in black mounts, but the mint stamps are all hinged. There is a pouch of stamps inside the front cover and a few "Taxes" overprints for provisional postage due uses, uncounted in the total catalogue value. 2023 Scott US$777.15 = $1,049.15 $24.00
Belgian Congo / Occupied German East Africa #1/136, B1/B25 and N17-N29, NB1-NB9. Mint collection starts with overprints on Belgian Congo issues, moving into beautiful, local issues up to 1955. Quite complete, includes semi-postals and the four souvenir sheets produced by the Belgian government in exile in London during WWII. Lovely appearance, some are never hinged, most are lightly hinged, and a few have minor hinge remnants. Very low production numbers on some of these items. Mounted on four black stockpages. Total 2023 Scott US$762.70 = $1,029.65 $36.00
Belgium #28/321 &B1/B242. Pre-WWII mounted collection of mint and used with some better, such as King Leopold label issues of 1900 #73 and #75 (both a bit heavily hinged, mint), and a lovely used example of #102 with a socked-on-the-nose CDS cancel. The mint stamps of the first set are no gum and are counted as used. Overall condition and appearance is quite nice, and there are some nice cancels amongst the used, as well as a couple of precancels. There are a couple of damaged stamps, such as #39 used (no certificate, and with a trimmed corner makes for a lovely $1400. space filler) and #74 with a bit of corner damage to the tab and both are not counted in the total catalogue value. 2023 Scott US$1026.85 = $1,386.25 $22.00
Bosnia and Herzegovina #30c/45f. A group of 17 different "compound perforation" issues, from four different perforation combinations. Perforation 12-1/2 x 9-1/4 has #30c (mint), 31c, 43c, 45c. Perforation 12-1/2 x 6-1/2 #43d (mint), 44d. Perforation 12-1/2 x 6-1/2 has #32e (mint), 33e (mint and used), 34e (mint), 37e, 38e, 40e, 44e (mint no gum and used). Perforation 9-1/4 x 6-1/2 has the two high value denominations used #44f and #45f. Overall, the condition is excellent. A couple of the used stamps have full gum. Interesting material! Owner’s 2021 Scott Classic US$976.00 = $1,317.60 $16.00
Bosnia and Herzegovina #45f. A lovely mint, never hinged, three-perf compound 5k Franz Josef high value. The top and left sides of the stamp are perforated 10-1/2, the right side is perf 12-1/2 and the bottom is perf 9-1/4. There is one slightly short perf at the bottom, which is common in such a large perforated stamp, the only minor flaw in what is otherwise a beautiful example of this rarity! One of the scarcest of the compound perforated stamps of the series! 2021 Scott Classic US$1250.00 = $1,687.50 $55.00
Brazil - Selection of 193 mostly used early issues, from the 1840’s imperforates to the early early 1900’s, all arranged on old-time album pages. Lots of better issued noted throughout, including the early "Bulls Eye" and postage due issues. The owner’s catalogue value is over $5000.00, but reprints / forgeries are evident in the earlier issues, expect some faults, as often found in these old-time holdings. Offered as received. Estimate = $300.00 $28.00
British Commonwealth - Stunning mint selection of 25 different sets of the George VI Royal Wedding series, all neatly arranged on two stockpages. A very clean offering. 2024 Scott US$606.50 = $818.75 $70.00
British Indian Ocean Territory #1/315. Select quality 1968-2005 offering of 395 mint (almost all Never Hinged) stamps, neatly arranged and identified within a 32-page Unisafe stockbook (black pages). A wonderful run of the Elizabethan era, with sets looking to all be complete, featuring a wide range of topicals, offered in a premium stockbook. 2024 Scott US$1212.45 = $1,636.80 $190.00
Canada #4. Striking page of 11 used examples of the 1852-1857 3p imperforate "Beaver", including many better postmarks such as grid and 4-rings (great strike of #16, the sought-after Hamilton UC postmark, RF10). While many look quite nice, none are four margin examples and we noted some other small faults throughout (rounded corners, thins). That being said, an excellent study group, unchecked for re-entries and paper types, with some premium postmarks. Estimate = $500.00 $250.00
Canada #4. VF used four margin example of the 1852 issue red 3 Penny Beaver imperf on medium wove paper. Sharp and nearly "Sock on the Nose" strike of a 4-ring "13" (Galt, Ontario) postmark. Unitrade is $300.00 for VF used. 2024 Scott US$200.00 = $270.00 $95.00
Canada #4/47. Octet of early Canadian with a nice 3+ margin copy of #4 with a 4-ring "21" cancel (Montreal), followed by the 1c, 5c, and 12-1/2c perforated cents, both shades of the 15c Large Queen and both Widow Weeds (with socked on the nose "Halifax" cancels"). Striking appearance and far better than normally seen. 2023 Scott US$822.50 = $1,110.38 $55.00
Canada #9. Used 1857 issue 7½p green Queen Victoria imperforate on wove paper. Margins large to very close (at top). Miniscule thin at top, visible in fluid, mentioned for the record. Rich deep colour, with indistinct 4-ring numeral postmark. A great looking early Canadian Classic. 2024 Scott US$3,000.00 = $4,050.00 $300.00
Canada #11. F/VF appearing example of the 1858 issue half penny rose "perforated pence". Very light tide "face free" postmark, but with a few minor pinhole sized thin spots. Still a very tough stamp to find, missing from most collections we receive. 2024 Scott US$1,500.00 = $2,025.00 $150.00
Canada #12. Used example of the 3p red "Beaver" provisional 1858 "perforated pence" issue. Fine centered with a small "Beaver-free" cancel. Light pressed out corner crease at lower right noted for the record. Missing from most collections we see. 2024 Scott US$1,400.00 = $1,890.00 $130.00

The cancel is well clear of the variety (at lower right). A couple shorter perfs and a very minor corner thin at lower right, mentioned "for the record". Valued as Fine used for the variety in the most common paper, perf and shade. 2024 Unitrade = $300.00 $13.00
Canada #34. VF mint Never Hinged "Wide and Short" spacing / perforation variety of the 1/2c black QV Small Queen, with extreme "Jumbo / Wide" example of left, followed by "Narrow / Short" spacing on the right. Both with rich colour and pristine gum. One might be tempted to remove the left stamp, making for a "boardwalk margin" exceptional single. Catalogue value often does not come into play on these 1 in 1000 stamps! 2024 Scott US$90.00 = $121.50 $26.00
Canada #34/302. Stupendous mint Hinged selection of 211 different stamps, from the 1/2c Small Queen to the 1951 issued $1.00 Fisheries. All laid out on 4 pages (2x double sided stocksheets), chronologically with many better stamps throughout such as #43, 44, 70, 72, 79, 80, 81, 85, 86, 92 etc, plus runs of George V Admirals (especially coils), War Tax, Scroll, Leaf, Arch, Medallion, 1935 Pictorials, George VI Mufti, War Issue, Peace Issue, coils etc. The perfect basis for a mint collection, with over 200 of the first 300 Canadian stamps covered. Worthy of any collection. 2024 Scott US$400.00 = $540.00 $130.00
Canada #50. F/VF mint Never Hinged lower sheet-margin pair of the 1/2c black 1897 QV Jubilee issue. The right stamp is particularly well-centered. Separation on the selvedge, but the stamps are solid. 2024 Scott US$550.00 = $742.50 $10.00

Each has VG/F centering, otherwise a nice sextet. 2023 Scott US$1127.50 = $1,522.13 $17.00

Canada #2479-2482. Complete mint Never Hinged set of 4 complete panes of 16 stamps for each of 2011 "Canadian Recording Artists" series of 4 stamps. We seldom see these panes, as only 160,000 were printed of each as compared to more often seen souvenir sheet or booklets panes, which had 1,105,000 issued combined. Overlooked by many at the time of issue, these complete panes now listed in the Unitrade catalogue and are not quite hard to find 13+ years past issue date. 2024 Unitrade = $300.00 $95.00
Canada #2586. Complete Canada Post thank you "kit" consisting of a small presentation box containing two VF condition intact mint examples of the limited-edition booklet of 12 of the permanent "THANKS/MERCI!" Truck and Rainbow design Picture Postage stamp, issued on November 30th 2020, ONLY TO CANADA POST EMPLOYEES, plus a thank you card and matching rainbow pin. The booklets are very elusive. While recognized and reviewed in numerous philatelic journals, Unitrade has yet to create an individual listing for this stamp, so we have used the Unitrade catalogue number for the frame design as our stamp reference. Two booklets are perfect for display purposes (front and back). Estimate = $100.00 $32.00
Canada #2662-2668, 2779-2785. VF mint self-adhesive "gutter" strips of 10, with middle inscription miniature label complete sets of the 2013 "NHL Team Logos" and 2014 "NHL Zamboni Machines" series. Strangely, there is a single stamp gone from the 2013 "Calgary Flames" issue, otherwise all in complete strips of 10. Unitrade only values these as strips of four, so conservatively valued (each strip) as the "gutter" strip of four, plus six singles. 2024 Unitrade = $227.65 $26.00
Canada #2844. Rare VF MNH complete souvenir sheet of 5 of the quickly recalled 2015 UNESCO World Heritage Sites in Canada showing an image of "Hoodoos" instead of Dinosaur Provincial Park, Alberta on the first $1.20 stamp. 121 Canada #2844, 2845-2849 FDC. First Day Covers. Extremely rare duo of private cachet "UNESCO" First Day Covers of the recalled 2015 issue "Wrong Hoodoo" $8.60 souvenir sheet containing one $1.20 "Wrong Hoodoo" stamp (#2844a) and the set of singles from the booklet (#2845-2849). Each booklet has a different numbered reverse (1 to 24) featuring a different "Did you know?" Olympic fact and photograph. An insanely difficult group to assemble with a total present day face value of $237.60. The Unitrade catalogue value of a complete set is ridiculously low considering how seldom we see sets of these booklets. 2024 Unitrade for 24 basic individual booklets = $408.00 $230.00

Missing about half of its gum, and with a crease in the upper left corner. That being said, only 200 copies ever printed, so there aren’t many around in any condition! 2024 Unitrade $2,000.00 $55.00

Great margins with the sheet margin cutting guide arrow at lower right. 131 Canada #E5. Perfectly centered and fresh VF mint Never Hinged sheet-margin example of the 1932 issue 20c henna brown redesigned bilingual "CENTS" Special Delivery stamp. Unitrade is $180.00 for VF MNH. Very hard to find this well centered. 2024 Scott US$115.00 = $155.25 $40.00

Canada #F1. Fine mint Never Hinged vertical pair of the 1875 issued 2c orange Registered Letter Stamp. A bit of oxidization (darker impression) at right, but an uncommon stamp to find in Never Hinged condition. 2024 Scott US$660.00 = $891.00 $80.00
Canada #F1a. VF mint Lightly-Hinged example of the 2c vermillion Registered Letter Stamp, with much better margins all-around than are usually seen with this issue. 2024 Scott US$185.00 = $249.75 $14.00

An eye-catching item, but with some gum loss on the top left stamp (and selvedge) and a few spots of hinge re-enforcement. Still, a seldom seen inscription block, catalogued as four basic stamps (with no premium added for the block or inscription). 2024 Scott US$1480.00 = $1,998.00 $110.00
Canada #F2. VF+ mint Hinged / Hinged Remnant example of the 1876 issued 5c dark green Registered Letter Stamp. 137 Canada #F2c. VF mint Original Gum, Hinged (remnant) example of the 1876 imperforate imprint margin pair of the 5c Registered Letter Stamp. Stunning partial "British American Bank Note Co. Montreal" imprint in margin at right. A very scarce item, especially with imprint as only 200 pairs are recorded. 2024 Unitrade = $1,500.00 $160.00
Canada #F2c. VF mint Original Gum, Hinged example of the 1876 imperforate vertical pair of the 5c Registered Letter Stamp. While there is a small hinge thin on the bottom of the top stamp (not noticeable from the front), this is a very scarce item, as only 200 pairs are recorded. 2024 Unitrade = $1,500.00 $95.00
Canada #F3. Fine mint Hinged partial original gum (75%) example of 1876 issued 8c dull blue Registered Letter Stamp. A couple shorter perforations and a natural paper inclusion on the left "8" numeral, but a scarce stamp in mint condition. 2024 Scott US$675.00 = $911.25 $65.00
Canada #F3. VF appearing unused (no gum) example of the 1876 issued 8c Registered Letter Stamp, with printing "counter marking" 8 in the centre top margin. Sadly, trimmed at right side, but a seldom seen example of the counter marking on this key-value Registered Letter Stamp. Estimate = $150.00 $48.00
Canada #J1/J40. Postage Due accumulation of mint / used, including singles, blocks, larger multiples, inscription blocks etc, all arranged within a 32-page Lighthouse stockbook (some edge wear on the book). A wild-ride with lots of value throughout, including many earlier issues, flowing right into the "Red Dues" which appear to be total unchecked for better paper varieties. The catalogue value here would be substantial. Expect the odd fault, and most of the earlier mint "Scroll" dues to be hinged, but largely Never Hinged in the 4th issue dues and "Red" dues. A great opportunity to sort these out and improve on your holdings. Estimate = $180.00 $50.00
Canada #MR1. Wonderfully centered VF mint Never Hinged example of the 1915 GeoV War Tax, 1c green. Catalogue value is often surpassed for stamps of this quality. Unitrade is $120.00 for the VF mint NH single. 2024 Scott US$82.50 = $111.40 $12.00
Canada #MR1, MR2. Top-notch quality F/VF mint Never Hinged group of 1915 GeoV War Tax issues, consisting of the 1c green, 2c carmine. 2024 Scott Classic US$165.00 = $222.75 $13.00
Canada #MR2a. Fine mint Hinged / Never Hinged sheet-margin block of 6 example of the scarce Unitrade listed rose carmine shade of the 1915 issue 2c George V War Tax. A great block, with only the top middle being hinged, the remaining 5 stamps never hinged. 2024 Scott US$720.00 = $972.00 $10.00
Canada #MR2B-MR2D, MR2Bi-MR2Di. Complete mint run of all six provisionally overprinted GeoV Admirals (either WAR TAX or WAR TAX/INLAND REVENUE). These 1915 issue postal/fiscals are listed in both Unitrade as postal issues and in Van Dam as revenue stamps. Generally in Fine Hinged condition but the #MR2Di is no gum. A good starter set. All valued as Fine. 2024 Unitrade = $820.00 $190.00
Canada #MR3. Fine mint Never Hinged upper sheet-margin block of four of the carmine shade of the 1916 2c + 1c KGV Admiral War Tax (Die I). While the stamps are never hinged, there is a light hinge mark on the selvedge. 2024 Scott US$480.00 = $648.00 $0.00
Canada #MR3. Fresh and VF mint NH examples of the basic carmine shade as well as the Unitrade and Scott Classic listed rose red shade of the 1916 issue 2c + 1c KGV War Tax. Both stamps with brilliant and distinct colours. Unitrade is $405.00 for the VF mint NH duo. 2024 Scott Classic US$277.50 = $374.60 $10.00
Canada #MR3a. VF mint Never Hinged example of the very rare Die II version of the 1916 issue 2c+1c carmine GeoV War Tax. This is one of the most elusive War Tax types. Unitrade is $1200.00 for VF mint Never Hinged. 2024 Scott US$825.00 = $1,113.75 $210.00
Canada #MR4, MR4i. Pristine and F/VF mint Never Hinged examples of the Unitrade listed brown and yellow brown shades of the 1916 issue 2c+1c GeoV Admiral War Tax stamp (Die II). Nice to get them both at once, especially this nice. Both catalogued as basic shades by Scott catalogue. 2024 Scott US$165.00 = $222.75 $10.00
Canada #MR4a. Fresh, attractive and F/VF mint Never Hinged example of the extremely rare Die I type of the 2c + 1c brown KGV War Tax stamp. An early "Back of the Book" issue, missing from the vast majority of Canadian collections we see. 2024 Scott US$975.00 = $1,316.25 $100.00
Canada #MR5. Fresh and VF mint NH JUMBO example of the 1916 issue perf 12 x 8 carmine KGV 2c+1c War Tax "sheet form" coil. Unitrade is $240.00 for VF mint Never Hinged, but the catalogue is almost irrelevant with this stamp! A couple small paper inclusions present (not notciable in-hand, but can be seen under magnification), mentioned "for the record". 2024 Scott US$172.50 = $232.90 $190.00
Canada #O1-O10. Complete VF mint Never Hinged group of "War" & "Peace" O.H.M.S. overprinted issues (there was never an O5), pleasing well centered, fresh and with pristine gum. Includes Canada’s key official overprint the 50c "Forestry" issue. 2024 Scott US$398.00 = $537.30 $15.00
Canada #O1-O4, O6-O8, O10-O15A, CO1, EO1, O16-O27, CO2, EO2. Mint almost all Never Hinged, near complete run of all the overprinted George VI era official stamps ("O.H.M.S." and "G" overprints), including the "back of the book" Airmail and Special Delivery issues. A tidy arrangement of 32 stamps, neatly laid-out on a single stockpage. All are Never Hinged, with the exception of the $1.00 Fisheries which is Lightly-Hinged. Missing only the 50c Lumbering from the "Peace" issue to be complete for the George VI era. 2024 Scott US$482.60 = $651.50 $30.00
Canada #OX3. Fine Hinged / Never Hinged top sheet-margin block of four of the 1907 issued QV "white paper" Officially Sealed stamp. The top pair is Hinged, the bottom pair Never Hinged, but as there are a couple natural gum streaks, we have not added any Never Hinged premiums. Catalogued as four basic stamps. 2024 Scott US$600.00 = $810.00 $150.00
Canada - Bin O' Stamps # 1. A right orange coloured 68-litre tub holds a sorted, but not organized, hoard of envelopes holding a massive wholesale accumulation of used stamps (more on paper than off). We noted lots of 45c era commemoratives (with more hand cancels than normally seen from this time period), but with smaller envelopes going back to the QV Jubilee issue, including several 3c but unfortunately the notations on the envelopes don’t always match the contents, so there is lots of unknown here. Thousands upon thousands of stamps. A picker’s delight. Estimate = $150.00 $16.00
Canada - Bin O' Stamps # 2. This blue coloured 68-litre tub complements the previous lot, but it is from a single source, with used on-paper wholesale quantities, sorted by Scott number with a count of the number of stamps inside. Runs from the 6c-43c era, with more commemoratives than definitives. Through the window envelopes it was easy to see nice hand cancels, including POCONs from the late 1970's to early 1980's. Not sure what level of checking has been done for errors or different printings. Probably 20,000 stamps here. Estimate = $150.00 $16.00
Canada - Collector’s "back of the book" holding, neatly arranged (and largely identified) within 24-page Lighthouse brand stockbook (repaired spine). While the stockbook as seen better days, the stamps inside were kept safe and feature a wonderful array of material including "O.H.M.S." officials (both perfins and overprints), Postage Dues and War Tax. Take a good look at the pictures (and the previous owner’s notes) to appreciate the scope and quality of the lot. 2024 Scott US$2014.75 = $2,719.90 $10.00
Canada - Collector's accumulation of "odds and ends" on stockpages on 21 packed pages in two binders. A bit of a philatelic treasure hunt here, with a wide range of material to peak the interest of any Canadian collector. In no particular order, there is...1) Stockpage with 20 used blocks from the George V / George VI era. 2) Two stockpages with used blocks / multiples of "O.H.M.S." and "G" overprinted officials (but also with a "hidden" 50c Widow Weeds and a few nicely cancelled NFLD). 3) Two stockpages of the QEII Caricature issue low-values (mint) with identified paper types (very useful). 4) Stockpage packed with used QEII "G" official stamps (all look to be gathered for better postmarks). 5) Two stockpages with late George VI / early QEII used blocks. 6) A few pages of QEII Centennial stamp (used) with some identified types. 7) Some "odds" including "Back of the Book" postage due, special delivery, war tax, postal script, precancels etc. 8) Large George VI / early QEII used coils. 8) Mint plate blocks, multiples, coils strips etc, from the late 1970's / early 1980's (all Never Hinged), including commemoratives and definitives (this last one takes up the entirety of 1 binder. A fun philatelic trip for the intrepid collector. Estimate = $200.00 $26.00
Canada - Kiloware offering of about 20lbs, mostly modern "on and off" paper filling a bankers box. Noticed some foreign mixed in as well, but easily 90% Canadian stamps. A great winter project! Estimate = $150.00 $24.00
Canada - Mint accumulation hinged / arranged in corner mounts on pages within a binder, sorted by issue type groups, rather than issue. Includes commemoratives, Chinese New Year and miniature sheets. A well laid-out arrangement, conservatively valued for the total usable postage / face value only. Total face value = $141.98 $60.00
Canada - Mint accumulation hinged / in mounts on homemade pages within a binder. An interesting group, organized largely by topic, rather than date of issue. Topics include definitive, nature, maritime, trains, military and RCMP, aircraft, art and Christmas. Clean material, conservatively valued for the usable postage / face value only. Total face value = $344.11 $13.00
Canada - Mint accumulation hinged / in mounts on homemade pages within a binder. As opposed to being sorted by issue, these were arranged by topical interest which includes sports, aboriginal, Canada Day and commemoratives. Nice clean material, which included the better Hockey booklet (#1972). Conservatively valued for the usable postage / face value only. Total face value = $341.42 $42.00
Canada - Mint Never Hinged blocks, plate blocks, inscription blocks, singles and panes. A wonderfully clean holding of mint material, all arranged within a 64-page Unisafe brand stockbook (black pages), from the mid-1950's to late-1990's. Several better noted throughout including the 1975 $1.00 Sprinter / $2.00 Plunger in panes (2 each) and singles (2 each), 1976 Olympics $1.00 / $2.00 issues in matched set inscription blocks, 1983 Commonwealth Day $2.00 matched set of inscription blocks and "Art Canada" inscription blocks. A nice "postage plus" offering. Conservatively valued for the total usable postage / face value only. Total face value = $516.60 $210.00
Canada - Mint Never Hinged Plate Block / Inscription Block accumulation of 487 blocks, all nearly arranged within a 32-page large format Lighthouse brand stockbook (black pages). 165 Canada - Mint Never Hinged Plate Blocks selection of 717 blocks, from the late 1930's to mid-1970's, all neatly arranged within an Elephant brand 32-page stockbook (black pages) and a few extra stocksheets. Includes several better earlier issues, as well as matched sets and different plate numbers. Very conservatively valued for the total useable postage / face value only. Total face value = $224.53 $85.00
Canada - Modern "COVID" period and newer selection of 187 different used stamps, from the 2020-2024 period (our largest all-different selection we have offered). Includes some high values, the "Flying Postal Truck" (issued to Canada Post employees) and 7 personal picture postage issues (this service recently discontinued). Near impossible to find such a lot since so few people use stamps anymore! Estimate = $170.00 $30.00
Canada - Modern mint Never Hinged souvenir sheets / miniature sheets. Mint Never Hinged group of 11 different modern souvenir sheets / miniature sheets, all still in the original Canada Post sealed packaging. These sealed packs are becoming more popular now, as there is increased awareness that the more modern Canada Post issued package material (often only available through Post Office fulfillment service) are tough to find a decade or so later in the secondary philatelic market. All sheets feature "P" stamps only, and include 6 of the "2nd round" of Lunar New Year issues. Conservatively valued for the total useable face value alone, but these often sell at a premium! Total face value = $172.26 $110.00
Canada - Modern mint Never Hinged souvenir sheets. A mostly all-different selection of 73 souvenir sheets from the past 20 years, including many "dollar plus" and "P" stamp values. Several better issues noted including Star Trek $10.00 Lenticular, CAPEX 2022, Lunar New Years, Photography, Hockey and Endangered Whales. While this would add up to a colossal catalogue value, we have conservatively valued this for the usable face / postage value only. Total face value = $260.65 $140.00
Canada - Official "O.H.M.S." perfin holding. Three pages of 4-hole and 5-hole Official stamps, all mint (mostly Lightly Hinged) including multiples. 189 Canada - Six-binder used accumulation from 1927 to about 2005, with quantities of up to about 20 of a type, all nicely arranged on black "Vario" (and a few "Hagner") black stock pages. The stamps include better values throughout (noted a 5c tagged Centennial cello-pane of 20), many nice cancels were noted along with lots of multiples, including some plate blocks. A bit of ephemera or FDCs are tucked in here and there. The previous owner had tried to catalogue this material, which ran into several thousands of dollars. Plus, there are over a couple of hundred stock pages, which aren’t cheap. Not your usual accumulation of used material. Estimate = $250.00 $16.00
Canada - Small holding of Bileski-promoted items issued between the late 1950’s to the early 1970’s. Many in their original packages or with their original descriptors. Some have held up well to time, others were just hype. Includes Centennial booklets and panes, Christmas 1968, 1969 and 1970 with mint and used booklet panes, identical pairs and a couple of 5c centre blocks. Mint and used cello-panes from Christmas 1964, a mint 15c Geotechnical pane of 16, plus a bit of a wholesale group of Centennial booklet panes. 191 Canada - Stockbook containing 270+ stamps with minor duplication, range of Scott #37 to 486 (1870-1968), plus "back of the book". Some better used include Jubilee #50-57, 60, Edward #95, Quebec Tercentenary #96-103. Better mint include War / Peace issue, #157, C2 etc. Some faults, but mostly sound. Expect most of the mint to be Hinged, but with some Never Hinged mixed throughout. Owner’s 2019 Scott US$2,162.05 = $2,918.75 $65.00
Canada - The "Senator" springback album collection, album #1 (#15/321). The first of a series of green springback albums, neatly arranged with mint and used, with extensive attention to detail with stamps arranged in mounts on hand-made pages. This album includes 6 "First Cents" issues, 4 QV "Large Queens", good showings of the "Small Queens", QV "Jubilee" issue up to 50c (missing the 20c value), Leafs, Numerals, Edwards, Admirals, George V (including 50c Bluenose / $1.00 Parliament, both mint) up to the end of the George VI and including "back of the book" (airmail, OHMS, registered letter, special delivery, postage dues etc.). While some of the mint are notated NH (never hinged), we found most of the earlier mint material to be either very lightly hinged, or with slight gum disturbance. A very attractively laid out collection, perfect for expansion or integration into another Canada collection. Estimate = $750.00 $42.00
Canada - The "Senator" springback album collection, album #2 (#325/465B). The second in a series of green springback albums, containing extensively researched mint and used stamps. This one containing the early QEII era, up to (and including) the Centennial series, being far and above what we usually see for identified Centennial sub-listings. Many hours were spent putting this challenging period of Canadian stamps together. Pictures show a representation of the group only. Estimate = $250.00 $10.00
Canada - The "Senator" springback album collection, album #3 (#469/601). The third in a series of green springback albums, containing both mint and used with extensive notation and stamps arranged in mounts on home-made pages. This late 1960’s / early 1970’s grouping includes a wonderful array of regular issues, but then also small varieties, paper types and tagging varieties. Of particular interest is the Caricature / Landscape issue which is extensively notated, with the previous owner identifying as to paper / gum and tagging types. Face value alone is $104.41. Pictures show a representation of the group only. Estimate = $250.00 $17.00
Canada - The "Senator" springback album collection, album #4 (#606/727). The fourth in a series of green springback albums, containing both mint and used, carefully notated and arranged (within mounts) on home-made pages. This mid to late 1970’s features a comprehensive run of regular issues, plus some semi postal issues, including small varieties, papers, tagging etc. Of particular note are the 1976 Olympic Games high-values and the 1972-1977 Definitive issue. Pictures show a representation of this offering. Face value alone is $147.76. Estimate = $250.00 $10.00
Canada - The "Senator" springback album collection, album #5 (#732/951). The fifth in a series of green springback albums, containing mint and used material (usually both for each issue), carefully arranged within mounts on home-made pages. This album features the late 1970’s to early 1980’s issues, with strength in the definitive series stamps. Of particular note is a coil strip of the 17c Parliament with a very unusual perforation shift (looks like it might have been caused by a paper abnormality in the feed during printing). The pictures show a representation of the lot. Face value alone is $116.23. Estimate = $200.00 $10.00
Canada - The "Senator" springback album collection, album #6 (#955/1509 and later) PLUS MORE. The sixth and final installment of green springback albums, containing mint and used (in black mounts) on home-made pages, PLUS an additional album of mint sheets / partial sheets and two sheet files. This final installment features "the balance", with the mint / used material in the springback being more "hit or miss" going from the 1980’s up to 1999. The additional binder / sheet files contain a very tidy mix of Canadian mint Never Hinged, largely from the 1970’s / 1980’s. Conservatively value for the total postage / face value alone. Total face value = $572.40 $16.00
Canada Cancels - Alberta "Holding" of postmarks / ephemera / postal history. An interesting array of Alberta, including 5 pages of cancels on stamp / piece (including several nice "socked on the nose"), Athabasca Hotel envelope / letterhead (Jasper), CPR Chateau Lake Louise envelope / letterhead, CNR Jasper Park Lodge illustrated letterhead and a large Notman series "Giant" postcard. The lot concludes with two Territorial cancels (both ex. Bill Robinson, on his pages) for North Fork 1892 and Livingstone 1897 (previous owner paid $75 and $80 respectively for these alone). 216 Canada Covers - FDC - First Day Collection 1967-1974. A trio of "Showcase" brand FDC albums, filled with an almost entirely private cachet FDC showing of over 220 covers from the 1967 Centennial issue to 1974 commemoratives. With the exception of a small group of early "#8" size Canada Post cachet FDC, these are 95%+ private cachet covers (mostly Rosecraft, but also noted a couple others, including Kingswood). A clean group of material, offered as received. Estimate = $120.00 $11.00
Canada Covers - FDC - First Day Cover Collection 1932-1968. Duo of Showgard brand FDC albums, filled with 201 covers from the 1932-1968 period, including many better such as 1932 Ottawa Conference, 1933 UPU, 1933 Grain Exhibition OVPT, 1934 Jacques Cartier / Loyalists, 1935 Silver Jubilee, George V, George VI (including Mufti, War Issue), 1946 Peace and 1951 Fisheries $1.00 (to name a few). Besides the obvious high-catalogue value of these issues, almost all are with privately produced cachet, which makes these early FDC very desirable. Owner's catalogue value is $1792.25, which does not surprise us as there are so many early FDC in here. Estimate = $300.00 $130.00
Canada Covers - FDC Accumulation in 7 albums. A large offering of over 500 Canada Post cachet FDC, largely from the late 1970's to early 1990's, all arranged in a diverse array of FDC albums. While most of the albums are quasi organized, there has been some rearrangement and pockets for expansion / spaces left for missing FDC left throughout. Includes a small group of private cachet covers mixed in (mostly NR), and we noted many high-value defintives (up to $5.00), including the 1982 issued $2.00 Commonwealth Day. Original retail cost would be astronomical. Estimate = $150.00 $24.00
Canada Covers - FDC Grouping / Collections. A duo of complementary collection, both in albums. The first album is a 1932-1948 group of 47 First Day Covers, housed in an old-time "White Ace" FDC album, including an array of George V / George VI era covers (we noted a very tidy 1935 Silver Jubilee 13c Ottawa Financial Branch registered cover), with combined catalogue value of $776.00. The second album is a 1967-1985 group of 233 FDC, house in a deluxe Lighthouse FDC album (album alone retails $40.00+), with a mix of earlier FDC with private cachets, before shifting to Canada Post issued FDC, with a combined catalogue value of $382.75. Total catalogue value between the two albums is $1082.75, with enough material here to satisfy any FDC enthusiast. Estimate = $170.00 $40.00
Canada Covers - FDC grouping, in three albums and "loose" filling a winebox. A very clean array of over 300 Canada Post cachet / un-cacheted FDC from the 1970's to 1990's. Most of the earlier FDC are addressed, with no cachet, before eventually shifting to the Canada Post produced covers in the 1980's and running into the 1990's. Arranged in albums and loose, the majority are Canada Post cachets, but we did notice pockets of private cachet covers as well. Estimated at less than 14c per cover! Estimate = $120.00 $11.00
Canada Covers - Manitoba Postal History. Choice offering of 30 different split ring postmarks from the Province of Manitoba, all on Edward VII postcards. A wonderful mix of Post Offices represented, many which have now closed, or were "absorbed" into some of the larger expanding adjoining cities. Some of the Post Offices included are Hazelridge, Green Ridge, Cowdery, Sanford, Norwood Grove, Ogilvie Station, Brandon Hills, Beverly, Hargrave, Scarth, Stockton Station, Oatfield, Cold Springs, Oberon, Orrwold etc. Large lots of "100+ year old" Manitoba postmarks are seldom offered. Estimate = $120.00 $110.00
Canada Covers - New Brunswick Postal History. Selection of 81 New Brunswick split ring cancels on postcards, primarily from the Edward era, but with a few earlier / later noted. Estimate = $150.00 $100.00
Canada Covers - New Brunswick Postal History. Wonderful selection of 214 covers, all bearing split ring cancels from the Province of New Brunswick. Primarily from the George V era, but with earlier / later noted as well. Strength in the small town cancels, with many closed Post Offices noted. While we noted the odd duplication, the vast majority of these postmarks represent different towns. Accumulated decades ago, offered as received. Estimate = $250.00 $85.00
Canada Covers - Postcard Accumulation. Dealer "show box" filled with approximately 400 postcard, with everything from "classics" to "chromes" and everything in-between. A mix of material, with almost half being BC, then seemingly skipping across to Manitoba, the eastwards to the Maritimes. Some are sleeved (some are still in the original dealer priced sleeves) while others are loose. A good sort for any postcard collector. Estimate = $150.00 $95.00
Canada Covers - POW WWII Prisoner of War Camps in Canada. Interesting group of four items, neatly arranged and described on four collector exhibit pages (from decades ago, note the typewritten pages!). Includes POW Camp "M" (New Toronto, Mimico ONT), Camp "B" (Fredericton NB), Camp "F" (Fort Henry, Kingston ONT) and Camp "P" (Petawawa ONT). Fascinating material, historically important. Estimate = $200.00 $24.00
Canada Covers - Vancouver BC 1940’s / 1950’s business advertising / corner card covers. A shoebox labelled "Recollection from my home town" offering a selection of over 250 covers from Vancouver BC businesses, primarily from the late George VI / early QEII period (with a few earlier / later). Several better noted, including a WWII Patriotic BC Telephone cover and 1954 Empire Games label on cover. Interesting material, offering a nice glimpse of Vancouver businesses from years past. Estimate = $150.00 $42.00
Canada Perfins - Private perfin accumulation of about 500 stamps, some laid out on stockpages, and the balance in a glassine envelope (with a few OHMS perfins tossed in). More Edwardian and Admiral issues than normally seen, including a number of smaller companies to go with the usual assortment of railway, insurance and telephone company items. Some have light pencil markings on the back indicating the perfin, stamp and possibly position. Noted Admirals to 50c, a few "back of the book" and a small number of AYRE from Newfoundland. From a couple of old holdings that never got fully processed. Expect a few minor faults. Estimate = $150.00 $75.00
Canada Precancels - A precancel hoard, the result of several partially sorted accumulations that never made it to the finish line. Some are sorted on about 20 stockpages, many are on stock cards, "102" cards or glassines. Ranging from Small Queens to 1970’s Floral issues, mostly used, the occasional multiple, with both bar and "MOON" types, with inverts. Checked a few and noted individual items up to Walburn/Marasco catalogue values of $50.00 per stamp. Expect duplication and some mixed condition. All held in an older red Lighthouse three-ring binder with a matching slipcover. Hundreds of stamps offered as received. Estimate = $300.00 $60.00
Canada Precancels - Selection of 469 precancels, QV to QEII arranged and identified on stockpages as to 8th Edition precancels catalogue. A wild ride of issues here, including both "bar" and "town" types, with strength in the Edward / George V era material. Expect the odd fault, but a wonderful working group for any precancel enthusiast. Owner’s 8th Edition Precancel Catalogue value = $847.70 $55.00
Canada Revenues #PC1-PC5, PC6. Prairie Provinces Conservation Stamps. Perfect VF MNH complete 1942 issue set of five plus the single 1943 issue. Pristine and unblemished gum, the PC1-PC5 perforated on all sides and scarce thus (only 6 out of 20 are perforated on all sides). As nice a set as you will see! 2022 van Dam = $202.50 $12.00
Canada Revenues - Revenue grouping "A". The first offering of a balance of a large and diverse accumulation of federal and provincial revenue stamps that we are breaking into three groups. In this batch, we note a number of nice "three leaf" excise stamps, including what might be an unlisted 20c red precancel and a "14c on $4" doubled red overprint (van Dam $85.) and a 20c Admiral "Internal Revenue/War Tax" stamp with revenue cancel. From the provinces, we note: Nova Scotia, Saskatchewan, New Brunswick and Yukon law, Quebec registration, Saskatchewan Power and Newfoundland revenues. A nice little grouping. Estimate = $150.00 $36.00
Canada Revenues - Revenue grouping "B". The second offering of a balance of a large and diverse accumulation of federal and provincial revenue stamps that we are breaking into three. This lot starts with a mounted collection of mint and used federal (e.g. Bill, excise, postal note) and provincial (e.g. Alberta, BC, Ontario, Quebec, Nova Scotia law issues, Alberta Vacation Pay #AV11) and a 1894 CPR telegraph frank. Plus, there are a few black stock cards with more law issues, and federal excise stamps, plus a Saskatchewan Power and Newfoundland Inland and Customs issues. Usual minor faults to be expected. Estimate = $130.00 $22.00
Canada Revenues - Revenue grouping "C". The third (and final) offering of the balance of a large and diverse accumulation of federal and provincial revenue stamps that we are breaking into three. There are 9 "cigarette" revenue stamps all overprinted "Specimen" with a red rubber handstamp (all not listed in van Dam). There are some nice federal revenues (noted War Tax overprinted with flag precancel (#FWT11b - $50.). There is a bit of promising Ontario and Saskatchewan with a nice grouping of New Brunswick law stamps. We noted 3 different Prairie conservation "Birds", and there is an old album page that includes a strip of 4 of the Alberta "Prosperity" stamp. Estimate = $150.00 $13.00
Canadian Provinces - New Brunswick #2. VF appearing 4-margin used example of the 1851 issue six pence olive-yellow imperforate, with clear impression of the grill #23 cancel (Richibucto, RF 6, "Rare"). There is a light pressed out crease, visible from the back, which does not detract from the appearance or collectability of this BNA Classic with a attractive numeral grid postmark. 2024 Scott US$1,200.00 = $1,620.00 $110.00
Canadian Provinces - Newfoundland #71 - 74, 75 and 78-86. Selection of forty-seven stamps, both Mint hinged and used from the 1897-1908 period issues (#73 is used only). An exceptionally attractive lot well suited for any collection. 2023 Scott US$859.60 = $1,160.45 $70.00
Canadian Provinces - Newfoundland #80. Uncommon FULL SHEET of 100 of the 1898 issued 1c yellow green, Queen Victoria issue. This is the left side pane, with full selvedge and cutting arrows on both the top and bottom of the right side. A very sturdy sheet, with no real perforation separation of note, but with no gum (perhaps removed to preserve sheet?) and a couple minor aging spots. That being said, a rare intact sheet. Estimate = $200.00 $90.00
Cilicia #2/124, J5-J12. Balance of an excellent holding of Cilicia overprints on Turkish and French stamps that we have been breaking up. Two bits of album pages plus a stockcard of loose stamps. A mix of mint and used, with two sets of used postage dues (these catalogue $225.00). There are overprint errors on 7 stamps from #77/#93 including doubles, inverted, double (one inverted) and a copy of #93 with no "Cilicia" (we can’t find a reference to this). Great for exploration and lots of value here. Estimate = $250.00 $10.00
Cilicia #2/125, J1-J12. Very clean, mostly mint, collection mounted on homemade, very heavy in the overprints on Turkish issues (with only a bit of the overprinted material on French issues), including a very complete run with the first three sets of postage dues. All nicely hinged to the pages and identified by Scott number (adjacent to the stamp). Purchased in 1988 and then set aside. Total 2023 Scott US$1148.95 = $1,551.08 $36.00
Cilicia #2/126, J1/J6. Terrific old, mounted collection of about 2/3 of the stamps issued for Cilicia in a chaotic period of just under three years, including overprints on Turkish stamps and later on French stamps. Identified by the previous owner with Scott numbers, but we have updated the 1987 catalogue prices! Includes a good offering of mint postage due stamps. Unchecked for print or overprint varieties. A few are in black mounts, but most are hinged. Total 2023 Scott US$1279.20 = $1,726.92 $75.00
Cilicia #100/126. Wholesale lot of mint 1920 overprints on French stamps for the French Military Occupation forces in Cilicia (or Silesia, if you prefer). Up to about 100 of a type, with lots of singles, a hefty quantity of blocks of four, and four blocks of 25. Best includes 14 copies of #126, but this lot is from an olde time estate, which appeared to have been purchased in the 1980’s and then never opened! Unchecked by us for overprint errors, type settings or stamp shades. Significant numbers of the stamps here are never hinged, including most of the blocks. We have catalogued them as hinged (so plenty of upside for any buyer to value by Never Hinged). Perfect for collectors and dealers alike. Total 2023 Scott US$1972.25 = $2,662.54 $75.00
Cilicia #110-116. Complete mint, hinged, set of the 1920 overprints on French stamps produced for use by the French Military Occupation forces in the Eastern County (Sandjak de l’Est), but never issued. Fresh, the high value is nicely centered. 2023 Scott US$308.75 = $416.81 $46.00
Cilicia #110-116. Complete mint, hinged, set of the 1920 overprints on French stamps produced for use by the French Military Occupation forces in the Eastern County (Sandjak de l’Est), but never issued. This lot has two used stamps, one is a forgery of #112 and #113 is cancelled to order. The #114 has a thin, and is not counted. The 5Fr high value is never hinged. Total 2023 Scott US$400.75 = $541.01 $60.00
Cilicia #116. Overprinted and revalued French 1Fr stamp for use in Clicia in 1920. A nice mint, never hinged, margin block of six. The overprint was properly centered, but the designs are a bit shifted into the perforations. Either the local conditions or the acidity of the paper or gum have caused some natural browning. Still a standout piece. 2021 Scott Classic US$1890.00 = $2,551.50 $110.00
Cilicia #117-127. Complete set of nine (there are a couple of skips in the numbering) overprinted "O.M.F." (Occupation Militaire Francaise) and revalued with the 2mm spaced overprint in mint, never hinged, strips of five, from a holding that hasn’t seen the light of day in 50 years! Although we didn’t note any Scott listed overprints, these pieces may help with documenting overprint settings. One of the 5Fr values has become separated, otherwise a great lot to keep or to break up. Total 2021 Scott Classic US$808.50 = $1,091.48 $10.00
Cilicia #117-127. Complete set of nine (there is no #118) overprinted "O.M.F." (Occupation Militaire Francaise) and revalued with the 2mm spaced overprint in mint, never hinged, blocks of 10, from a holding that hasn’t seen the light of day in 50 years! Includes #119 and #126 with one copy each of the "inverted S" in the overprint. The upper right corner stamp of #126 is creased and not counted. Otherwise, a very eye catching group. Total 2021 Scott Classic US$1791.90 = $2,419.07 $10.00
Cilicia #C1-C2. The scarce overprinted airmail duo from 1920 for two airmail flights between Adana and Aleppo. Due to their outrageous scarcity and catalogue value, counterfeits exist. These stamps are from a very old estate that we are breaking up and were probably acquired around 1970 by the previous owner. Each is moderately hinged with an initial on the back of each. On first blush, they look good, but sold as-is. 2023 Scott US$18,750.00 = $25,312.50 $200.00
Czechoslovakia - Mostly pre-1960 mint and used dealers stock in brown 32-page Filek stockbook. Up to about five of a type. Starts with the earliest issues, with perforated and imperforate, with overprints and revaluations. Mostly mint (hinged), but with a few used note. "Back of the book" includes some nice airmails (see note in Scott about the overprints) and postage dues with a bit of semi-postals. Well organized material in very nice condition. Many items individually identified and catalogued by 1979 Scott (total US$2598.00!). Estimate = $350.00 $10.00
Danich West Indies - A sextet from these Caribbean islands, predating becoming the US Virgin Islands. Includes mint #13 (heavily hinged), #20 (nicely used with a St. Thomas cancel), #24, #25 (very lightly hinged) and #37-38 (hinged). Very nice appearance. Total 2023 Scott US$492.50 = $664.88 $16.00
France #12/132 plus Back of the Book. The first 8 pages from an old Minkus album housing a solid collection of early used French material, with a good selection of Napoleon III, "Bordeaux", "Peace and Commerce" and the 1900 Liberty and Peace set accompanied by some nice postage dues and "FM" official overprints. Total 2023 Scott US$1802.50 = $2,433.38 $13.00
German States - Bavaria #2/254 plus Back of the Book. A "collection on the run"! Beautiful material from 1849 to 1920 on Schaubek album pages, and mounted in clear mounts which provide protection, but not securely holding all the stamps. This is a relatively minor complaint as this mint and used collection (and often both) has a very nice run of early material (with readable cancels), followed by good coverage of the "Coat of Arms", Prince Luitpold, and King Ludwig (with all of its various overprints on both perforated and imperforate issues). The back of the book includes semi-postals, postage dues and officials. 293 German States - Mecklenburg #1/6. A quartet of mint examples of this state’s only issues before it became part of the North German Confederacy in 1868. Heavily hinged with some minor adhesion. 294 German States and Occupied Territories - A section of old Schaubek pages with a mix of mint and used pre-War issues, each identified and catalogued by the owner. About 190 different stamps and 5 souvenir sheets. Wide range of print quantity. Not Scott listed, and because of the nature of local post, these have to be sold "as-is". 306 Germany/DDR - Choice mint Never Hinged and used 1949-1990 offering of complete sets, all neatly arranged on a double sided stockpage. Better include B316-317 used (US$125.00), 9N516-9N532 "Famous Women" used (US$141.00) and B3-B4 used (US$45.00). Total 2024 Scott US$549.00 = $741.15 $10.00
Gilbert and Ellice Islands #1/54. High-quality offering of 48 mint Hinged stamps, largely complete for the Edward, George V, George VI eras of this popular British Commonwealth nation. All neatly arranged within black mounts on the collector's home-made album pages. 2024 Scott US$366.10 = $494.25 $34.00
Great Britain #1. A good, bad and ugly trio of Penny Blacks. The good is a nice-looking copy with a red Maltese cross cancel (a solid 3-1/2 margin copy, but it could be argued that it is 4 margins). The bad is another attractive stamp, but the scissors lost their sense of direction in the upper right corner. The "ugly" has a circular cork obliterator on a brittle stamp that has a vertical crease that has almost split the stamp in two. Counted as two sound copies. All could benefit from a soaking. Total 2023 Scott US$750.00 = $1,012.50 $75.00
Great Britain #3/126. Starter group of 48 used Queen Victoria-era, including lots of sound copies, some nice cancels, a chance to explore different plate numbers and some just straight-up valuable stamps with individual catalogue values up to US$475.00 each. There is no real order to this group, and there is some very light duplication (which can help you recoup your investment). Expect a bit of mixed condition, but a great way to build and add value to any GB collection. Estimate = $200.00 $11.00
Great Britain #3/20. Accumulation of 65 used imperforate and perforated "Penny Reds" with a range of paper, perforations, plate wear and cancellations. Seems to be randomly mounted and without any indication that someone has tried to identify these. Condition is definitely mixed, and faults are to be expected, but an excellent research group, offered as received. Estimate = $150.00 $24.00
Great Britain #3/20. Early "Penny Red" issues with 40 imperforate examples (includes a lovely strip of six and a couple with London office "numeral" Maltese Cross cancels), with 14 perforated examples. All of this is unchecked by us for papers, printings, plates, perforations or cancels. Expect some faults here and there, but overall the appearance and condition looks well above average. Estimate = $150.00 $32.00
Great Britain #4/105. Used selection of forty-five Queen Victoria stamps, selected for their readable and often visually striking cancels. Includes better stamps with catalogue values up to US$165.00 and includes transportation and colonial cancels. As they are selected for their cancels, some of the stamps are faulty, but the majority are in sound condition and will add to the eye appeal of your GB collection. Estimate = $180.00 $22.00
Great Britain #4/30. Attractive stockpage filled with 54 used "Tuppence" blue, 2d Queen Victoria. This accumulation of 54 copies (9 are imperf, 45 with perforations), with a range of dies, papers, perforations, shades, plate numbers and includes some cancel interest. Apparently all unidentified and unsorted, this is your chance to sharpen your classical identification skills. Condition is quite mixed, but there is a nice pair of P30 (plate 13) on piece. While catalogued as the cheapest item in Scott, there will likely be plenty of upside to this lot once sorted. Minimum 2023 Scott US$1372.50 = $1,852.88 $32.00
Great Britain #8/20. Two stockpages packed with unsorted "Penny Reds" (no #33), noting different papers, perforations and dies. A total of 135 stamps, many selected for their cancel, but a perfect opportunity to work on your plate reconstruction, or to build your collection or stock. Because the previous owner didn’t identify these items, we are counting them all as #20 (so plenty of potential upside). Condition is mixed, as with any lot of this type and era. Minimum 2023 Scott US$1552.50 = $2,095.88 $32.00
Great Britain #20/143. A quartet of misperfs. Includes two "Penny Reds" that seemed to face the quandary when going to use a heavily misperforated stamp, which is...stick with the perforations or cut the stamp so that the design is intact? The user seems to have stuck with the latter on these used singles of #20 and #33 (plate 91). The mint strip of three of #33 (plate 199, gum disturbed - catalogues $217.50) has the vertical perforations shifted so that the position letters are next to each other. The most eye-catching piece is the 1/2d Edward VII corner pair with plate number showing doubling of perforations caused by the corner of the pane being tucked under the sheet when going through the perforation process. Unusual material. Estimate = $160.00 $10.00
Great Britain #22/32. A study of 15 different 1-1/2d, 4d, 6d, 1/- used Queen Victoria issues from 1855-1870 on three Stanley Gibbons pages in black mounts. Collected by Stanley Gibbons numbers, but unchecked by us for accuracy with those listings. Most have excellent appearance and are in above-average condition, but the occasional minor fault is to be expected. The two earlier issues which are cut to shape, one of the 6d purple and two of the 1/- green stamps are not counted in the catalogue value, and the other stamps are counted as the basic item, so more value could lie within. Total 2023 Scott US$1475.00 = $1,991.25 $10.00
Great Britain #33. Four mint pieces, including a trio of plate 203, pairs of plates 138 and 106 and a single of plate 142. The last with a paper hinge, otherwise usual heavy hinging and thick, crackly gum, none of which takes away from these attractive items. Total 2023 Scott US$445.00 = $600.75 $28.00
Great Britain #33. Penny Red holding, some identified and mounted on four old "Lighthouse" hingeless pages, supported by a small manila stockbook with more stamps sorted by plate number (can be stacked up to five deep which won’t photograph well), plus a stockcard of unidentified plate numbers. The condition will be a bit mixed and some could use a soak. A couple hundred stamps here. The balance of an estate, offered as received. Estimate = $150.00 $13.00
Great Britain #33/54. To soak or not to soak, that is the question. Victorian-era kiloware is rarely seen, but there are two pages of mostly penny reds that are still on their piece, some with nice cancels, some not. There are also two larger front pieces with a pair of 3d #49 (plate 8) and #54 (plate 4), which catalogues $165.00. Bonus material is over 100 more Penny Reds that have been soaked. These appear to have been selected for their readable numeral cancels, and condition is quite mixed. Mounted on 4 stockpages, but otherwise they haven’t seen the light of day for decades. Estimate = $170.00 $32.00
Great Britain #34/61. Two dozen mostly different Queen Victoria issues, mostly from the 1860’s. Best is a copy of #46 (plate 4) with a sock on the nose cancel (pulled perf on the lower left side), and the other issues include various shades, plates and a couple have "wing" margins. Collected by Stanley Gibbons numbers and in black mounts on SG pages, the collector made a couple of errors in identification, which we have corrected for the catalogue value. A couple of items are faulty, which are not counted in the total catalogue value. Total 2023 Scott US$2405.00 = $3,246.75 $10.00
Great Britain #49. Mint Hinged example of the 1867 rose coloured 3d QV definitive on "Spray of Roses" watermarked paper, from plate 10. Fresh appearance, with typical centering. Has minor hinge remnant and natural paper twinge at side, which does not detract from this attractive stamp. 2023 Scott US$900.00 = $1,215.00 $75.00
Great Britain #49/57. More selected used examples from the 1860’s. These 22 stamps offer a good range of shades, plates, printings, cancels, with values up to 5/-. Most are quite striking and in above average condition. A couple of the items are incorrectly identified, which we have changed and catalogued as the basic item by Scott. A couple of damaged items are not counted in the total catalogue value. Total 2023 Scott US$2792.00 = $3,769.20 $16.00
Great Britain #54/87. Used Queen Victoria selection from the 1870’s (plus a couple of mis-identified outliers) are in these 29 stamps, with better such as #64 (plates 8 and 12), #70 (plate 15), #87 (plate 13), plus a nice study of both colours of the 2-1/2d "keystone". Attractive, and in decent condition, with any obviously faulty copies not counted. Some have nice cancels, a couple of nice wing margin copies. Collected by Stanley Gibbons and we have tried to correct a couple of obvious mis-identifications and catalogued everything as basic Scott items. Total 2023 Scott US$2255.00 = $3,044.25 $13.00
Great Britain #58. Bantam bonanza! An accumulation of 53 used copies (including one pair) of one of the smallest stamps issued in the 19th century. An interesting study group, with potential to learn about shades, plate numbers (some are easily read, others take some deduction), with some attractive cancels to be found along the way. Usual mixed centering and condition. From an estate, offered as received and counted as basic stamps. Minimum 2023 Scott US$1166.00 = $1,574.10 $10.00
Great Britain #78/126. A quintet of Stanley Gibbons album pages with black mounts added, holding 50 (mostly different) used stamps from the last 20 years of Queen Victoria’s reign. Includes both plates of #87, revalue #952 along with 2/6 and 5/- higher values and a election from the Jubilee issue. Collected by SG and catalogued as basic Scott issues. A couple of faulty are not counted in the total catalogue value. Total 2023 Scott US$2482.80 = $3,351.78 $10.00
Great Britain #78/149. Stockpage with 20 mint singles and three multiples from the later Victorian and Edwardian period. Includes several values from the Jubilee set and KEVII values to 10d. Fresh, reasonably well centered, and most are lighter hinged than are often seen. Expect a couple minor faults, but unchecked for better printings or shades. Total 2023 Scott US$644.60 = $870.21 $22.00
Great Britain #78/285. Pair of stockpages with mint Queen Victoria to King George VI mint singles (plus a couple of blocks of six and a 1/2d George V plate strip). Includes single stamps with catalogue values up to $100.00 and what might have been a study into the first George V definitives (we have counted them as the most common). All are mint, hinged, some heavily. There appears to be a minor surface scuff on the 10d Edward VII (but it looks more like an ink flaw to us), otherwise condition is decent. Total 2023 Scott US$546.95 = $738.38 $0.00
Great Britain #96/109. A dozen used high-value Queen Victoria singles. A couple are sound, a couple are fillers, and several in the middle might be improved with a soak and a press. Most with decent centering and more circular date cancels than normally seen (but counted with no premium for either). Total 2023 Scott US$3175.00 = $4,286.25 $15.00
Great Britain #179/224. A herd of sixteen Seahorses, including a half dozen 10/- stamps. This is not your usual lot of 16 higher value King George V eye-catchers. The thirteen stamps include more readable date cancels than are normally seen, and the condition is better than average. The three perfins (two different 2/6 and one 5/-) are in rougher condition and not counted in the total catalogue value. 2023 Scott US$1125.00 = $1,518.75 $14.00
Great Britain #292/369. Purchased in the 1960’s, this assortment of Wilding issues is awaiting a specialist’s eye to sort this out. There is a smattering of stamps from the first two watermarks, and four sets of graphite lines (including with phosphor) and even four blocks (one with a mis-transfer of the graphite, leaving a smudge on the back and a blackened corner on the front). There are a few blocks and six booklet panes. A mix of hinged and never hinged. Hasn’t seen the light of day in almost 60 years! Estimate = $150.00 $10.00
Great Britain #313/1128. A pair of albums with a very complete run of commemorative and Christmas stamps issued between 1953 to 1985. Includes mint and used sets. All are mounted on quadrilled pages in black mounts. One volume is an old "Cambridge" 3 post binder and the other is a red coloured Stanley Gibbons springback binder. Very attractively laid out and the material is in excellent condition. The earlier includes the phosphor issues, and there is a face value of about £50.00, plus there is a few hundred dollars of catalogue value here and a nice springback binder. Estimate = $140.00 $10.00
Great Britain #1129/1585. Mint and used collection, 1986 to 1994. A near complete run of nine years of commemorative and Christmas stamps. Includes mint and used sets, often in pairs or strips, with most of the souvenir and miniature sheets present. With annotations with Stanley Gibbons and Scott numbers. All mounted on quadrilled pages in black mounts and protected by a red coloured, Stanley Gibbons springback binder. The total current face value of the mint material is £134.53 ($239.46 CDN). 2023 Scott US$540.00 = $729.00 $20.00
Great Britain #1586/2006. A very complete run of commemorative and Christmas stamps 1995-2001 (including the Millennium issues), missing only a few items to be complete. Includes mint and used sets, often in pairs or strips, with most of the souvenir and miniature sheets present and a number of the difficult to find die cut singles. All the mint are mounted on quadrilled pages in black mounts, held in a red coloured Stanley Gibbons springback binder. The total current face value of the mint material is £251.43 ($447.55 CDN). 2023 Scott US$1030.00 = $1,390.50 $10.00
Great Britain #1634b &1777b. Pair of experimental Christmas sheets. The 1995 pane is of 20x 19p stamps showing a "Robin in a Pillar Mailbox" with 20 labels (catalogues $225.00). The 1997 is a pane of 10x First Class "Santa and a Christmas Cracker" stamps with 10 labels (with a strong bend across the bottom, which may press out, catalogues $200.00). A nice pair of modern rarities. Total 2023 Scott US$425.00 = $573.75 $10.00
Great Britain #2007/2529. Near complete run of three years of commemorative and Christmas stamps, issued between 2002 and 2007. Missing only a few items for completion. Includes mint and used sets, often in pairs or strips, with most of the souvenir and miniature sheets present and a number of the difficult to find die cut singles. All the mint are mounted on quadrilled pages in black mounts. All squeezed into a green coloured Stanley Gibbons springback binder. The total current face value of the mint material is £615.99 ($1096.45 CDN). Total 2023 Scott US$1835.65 = $2,478.13 $22.00
Great Britain #2523/3043. Christmas 2007 to Spring 2012. A very complete run of commemorative and Christmas stamps, missing only a few items to be complete. Includes mint and used sets, often in pairs or strips, with most of the souvenir and miniature sheets present and a number of the difficult to find die cut singles. All the mint are mounted on quadrilled pages in black mounts, held in a red coloured, Stanley Gibbons springback binder. The total current face value of the mint material is £653.20 ($1162.70 CDN). Total 2023 Scott US$2084.00 = $2,813.40 $22.00
Great Britain #3008/3343. Almost three years of commemorative and Christmas stamps, issued between March 2012 and December 2014, missing only a few items to be completed. Includes mint and used sets, often in pairs or strips, with most of the souvenir and miniature sheets present and the difficult to find die cut singles. All the mint are mounted on quadrilled pages in black mounts in a green 2-post Lighthouse binder with a matching slipcase. Bonus items are a number of "Post and Go" labels (52 mint and 49 used), which are counted in the face value, but not in the Scott catalogue value. The total current face value of the mint material weighs in at £519.38 ($924.50 CDN). Total 2023 Scott catalogue value US$1524.70 = $2,058.35 $38.00
Great Britain #3344/3677. Near complete run of three years of commemorative and Christmas stamps, issued between 2015 and 2017. Missing only a few items to be complete includes mint and used sets, often in pairs or strips, with most of the souvenir and miniature sheets present and the difficult to find die cut singles. All the mint are mounted on quadrilled Lighthouse pages in black mounts. Bonus items are a number of "Post and Go" labels (74 mint and 52 used), which are counted in the face value, but not in the Scott catalogue value. The total current face value of the mint material weighs in at £640.48 ($1140.05 CDN). Total 2023 Scott US$2402.52 = $3,243.30 $38.00
Great Britain #4184/4310. Mint and used selection of 181 stamps, issued in 2022, neatly arranged in mounts and identified on pages within a green Stanley Gibbons springback album. A very tough to assemble group, which includes 20 strips of 4/5 stamps, 6 vertical pairs and 4 souvenir sheets. Included (but not counted in the catalogue value) is a page of 2022 issued "Fast Post" issues. Wonderful material for the modern GB collector. 2024 Scott US$517.70 = $698.90 $130.00
Great Britain - Balance of a collection on Stanley Gibbons "Windsor" Volume 1 loose leaf pages with very professional collector-added black mounts, held in an orange springback album. This segment includes the definitives from King George V to the end of the King George VI era, plus back of the book, with a couple of nice official overprints and a touch of postage dues. Expect the mint to all be hinged. Many of the used were selected for being cleanly cancelled. Collected by Stanley Gibbons, but very conservatively catalogued by basic Scott catalogue value. Total 2023 Scott US$750.15 = $1,012.70 $11.00
Great Britain - A great box of Great Britain. The balance of a consignment, with material from a wide range of sources, this 3/4 filled bankers box has a wide assortment of mint and used material from the Victorian period up to about 1980. The older material is on an assortment of album pages and dealer cards including some of the higher catalogue material from the mid-19th century (we did see a battered Penny Black). A bit more mint material appears in the KGV through the Elizabethan era. And besides the "usual suspects" we saw some post office training overprints and overseas offices overprints. There is some philatelic material (e.g. presentation packs, PHQ cards and a few 1960’s First Day Covers). A lot with hidden value throughout, which these pictures will have a hard time to do it justice. Estimate = $200.00 $10.00
Great Britain - Bankers box of value, including (in no particular order)..1) Stanley Gibbons springback album for GB commemoratives 1924-1971 (1st Decimal issue), partially filled will used stamps, including regular and phosphor issues (a great start to a complete group). 2) Group of 5x stockbooks and 2x binders (with stocksheets) filled to varying extents but containing a mix of largely unsorted mix of QEII era mint and used, including Machins (including Regionals), Wildings, high-value "Castles" and commemorative issues. 3) Small box filled with unchecked QEII Machin issues, largely in baggies just awaiting a more intricate sort. 4) Lastly, a binder containing vario stocksheets containing an assortment of 27 USA flights / first flights (a bit different from the rest of the lot, but adding an interesting secondary aspect). Estimate = $120.00 $10.00
Great Britain - First Day Cover Collection / Accumulation Part 1. Box filled with over 425 First Day Covers, 1967-1996, organized by year into six albums (along with loose material). We noted singles, sets, blocks, souvenir sheets and high-values and regional issues. Overall very clean material, which would have had a tremendous initial cost. Estimate = $150.00 $11.00
Great Britain - First Day Cover Collection / Accumulation Part 2. Box filled with approximately 400 First Day Covers from the 1960-2000 period, arranged in 7 albums. We noted singles, souvenir sheet and sets, with many attractive topical issues that the British Post Office has been renowned for. Better items (catalogued by 2023 Stanley Gibbons Concise), include #161-164 (catalogue £75.00), #180-181 (catalogue £50.00), #191-193 (two covers, catalogue £90.00) and a few others that catalogue £10-30 each. Estimate = $150.00 $10.00
Great Britain - First Day Cover Collection / Accumulation Part 3. A duo of boxes, filled with 14 cover albums that feature over 1200 First Day Covers, from the 1950-1991 period. The majority of these covers are addressed to Canada, with singles, sets, plate blocks and souvenir sheets noted throughout. A few small faults in the earlier material (toning, corner bends), but overall a very enticing run of material. Estimate = $250.00 $10.00
Great Britain - Modern Meticulously Mounted Machin Madness (and other definitive issues). There was enormous cost to the collector to assemble this collection (face value of the mint alone was £796.60 = C$1417.95) and we didn’t have the heart to break it up, so offering it intact for a seldom seen chance to acquire such a diverse holding. Coverage from the mid-1990’s up to 2023 with a significant effort made to get a mint and used example of each stamp. This is the high-value era, and regular changes in postal rates/services, perforation/die-cutting, colours, printing methods meant that many of these issues didn’t hang around for long or were missed by collectors at the time. Plus, there are a number of souvenir sheets and panes of "Classic" designs or issues that combined definitives and commemoratives. The collector has done you a favour by adding handwritten notes with both Stanley Gibbons and Scott numbers along with issue dates and distinctive features. The mint are in black mounts and the pages fill a "Senator" Stanely Gibbons springback binder. Conservatively estimated 2024 Scott catalogue value US$6000.00 = $8,100.00 CDN. Estimated at less than the price of the mint face value postage. Estimate = $1,250.00 $550.00
Great Britain - Modern QEII era collection Part 1, neatly mounted on pages within a "like new" Stanley Gibbons "Simplex" springback album. Looks to run up to about 2005, including singles, sets and booklets. Instead of being traditionally mounted chronologically, this group was collected and arranged by topic. Topics evident include Royalty, Sports, Automobiles, Trains, Art and Millenium issues. Many better items throughout. Conservatively valued for the total postage / face value of the stamps. Total face value £494.89 in Canadian Dollars = $887.45 $12.00
Great Britain - Modern QEII era collection Part 2, neatly mounted on pages within a "like new" Stanley Gibbons "Simplex" springback album. The stamps look to run up to about 2005, including singles, sets and booklets. Very neatly arranged, but by topical interest rather than chronological order. It starts with a notable first page of high-value "Castles" followed by topics that include Christmas, Famous People, Illustrations, Architecture, Animals, Nature etc. Very clean material. Conservatively value for the usable postage / face value alone. Total face value £564.82 in Canadian Dollars = $1,012.85 $12.00
Great Britain - Perfin paradise! A total of about 370 perfins, with very little duplication, fairly evenly spread between Queen Victoria and early Queen Elizabeth (oddly with very little KEVII stamps). Most are mounted on pages with the perfin written below the stamp. The potentially more valuable material is from the QV-era, including individual stamps that catalogue up to $300.00 each. A great way to expand your British collection. Estimate = $140.00 $10.00
Great Britain - Guernsey #1/702a, J1-J41. Very complete mint, never hinged, collection covering 1958-1999 nicely mounted in black mounts on quadrilled pages in a green springback binder. Includes lots of miniature and souvenir sheets to go along with the great topical appeal for many issues. The collection started off being chronologically mounted (annotated with Stanley Gibbons and Scott numbers), but at some point, spaces were filled with random issues up to about 2008 (including the £10 #911), which throws the balance of the collection off a bit. A few pages had both mint and used, and we have kept those mixed pages in the mint collection (for the record, it affects very few stamps), and it means that a few of the souvenir sheets are loose in between the pages. None of this affects the quality and quantity of this lot. Total 2023 Scott US$607.85 = $820.60 $14.00
Great Britain - Guernsey #8/207a, J1/J19. Very complete used collection covering 1958-1999 lightly hinged to quadrilled pages. Includes lots of miniature and souvenir sheets to go along with the great topical appeal for many issues. A few of the earlier issues are postally used, but the majority appear to have been philatelic usages with post office pictorial cancellations. The collection started off being chronologically mounted (annotated with Stanley Gibbons and Scott numbers), but at some point, spaces were filled with random issues up to about 2004, which throws the balance of the collection off a bit. A few pages had both mint and used, and we have kept those mixed pages with the mint collection (for the record, it affects very few stamps), and it means that a few of the souvenir sheets are loose in between the pages. None of this affects the quality and quantity of this lot. Total 2023 Scott US$533.30 = $719.96 $11.00
Great Britain - Guernsey #615/1427. Very complete mint, never hinged, collection covering 1998-2022 (overlaps previous mint lot) nicely mounted in black mounts on quadrilled pages in a green springback binder. Includes lots of miniature and souvenir sheets to go along with the great topical appeal for many issues. The collection started off being chronologically mounted (annotated with Stanley Gibbons and Scott numbers), but at some point, items were mounted by topic or with random issues inserted as space allowed, but being years out of sequence. This throws the balance of the collection off a bit. Some of the souvenir sheets are loose in between the pages. None of this affects the quality and quantity of this lot. Several hundred dollars worth of original face value. Total 2023 Scott + US$1360.90 = $1,837.22 $60.00
Great Britain - Isle of Man #1/888. A very complete mint, never hinged, collection covering 1958-2001 all nicely mounted in black mounts on quadrilled pages in a green "Senator" springback binder. Includes lots of miniature and souvenir sheets to go along with the great topical appeal (e.g. motor sports, ships, animals, birds, British history). The collection started off being chronologically mounted (annotated with Stanley Gibbons and Scott numbers), but at some point, spaces were filled with random issues, some of which stretch up to 2010 which throws the organization of the collection off. A few of the souvenir sheets are loose in between the pages. Substantial face value here. Total 2023 Scott US$838.30 = $1,131.71 $75.00
Great Britain - Isle of Man #12/834. A very thorough run of used issues from 1973-1999 mounted on quadrilled pages. Includes lots of miniature and souvenir sheets along with the great topical issues this island is known for (e.g. motor sports, ships, animals, birds, British history). The collection is roughly chronologically mounted (annotated with Stanley Gibbons and Scott numbers), but at some point, spaces were filled with random issues, or items were mounted by topic, which throws the organization of the collection off a bit. A few of the souvenir sheets are loose in between the pages. The majority appear to have originated philatelically with post office pictorial cancellations. Not surprising as postally used material is so much harder to find than mint. This collector had a matching collection of mint issues and in a few cases, mint and used were mounted on the same page. Where this has occurred, we have kept that page with the mint portion. This doesn’t affect too many stamps but does leave the occasional unexpected hole. Substantial original cost. Total 2023 Scott US$579.35= $782.12 $26.00
Great Britain - Isle of Man #752/1484. A very thorough run of used regular issues generally between 1997-2012 mounted on quadrilled pages. Includes some miniature and souvenir sheets along with the great topical issues, such as motor sports, ships, animals, birds, British history. This part of the collection is a bit haphazard in its order (and overlaps the chronology of the previous used lot) but every stamp is annotated with Stanley Gibbons and Scott numbers, which means you won’t have too much difficulty restoring its natural order. A few of the souvenir sheets are loose in between the pages. The majority appear to have originated philatelically with post office pictorial cancellations. Not surprising as postally used material is so much harder to find than mint. Substantial original cost. Total 2023 Scott US$1228.95= $1,659.08 $32.00
Great Britain - Isle of Man #808/1686. Includes lots of miniature and souvenir sheets to go along with the great topical appeal (e.g. motor sports, ships, animals, birds, British history). The collection has a bit of randomness to its order, but the collector has annotated each stamp with Stanley Gibbons and Scott numbers, which will make it easy to sort this out. A few of the souvenir sheets are loose in between the pages. The original face value cost to this collector approached $1000.00. Total 2023 Scott US$1514.20 = $2,044.17 $75.00

Includes lots of miniature and souvenir sheets to go along with the great topical appeal for many issues. The collection started off being chronologically mounted (annotated with Stanley Gibbons and Scott numbers), but at some point, spaces were filled with random issues up to about 2000 (including the £10 #933), which throws the organization of the collection off a bit. Includes a complete run of postage dues. A few of the souvenir sheets are loose in between the pages. None of this affects the quality and quantity of this lot. Total 2023 Scott US$510.15 = $688.70 $30.00

A few of the souvenir sheets are loose in between the pages. The majority appear to have originated philatelically with post office pictorial cancellations. Not surprising as postally used material from the Channel Islands is so much harder to find than mint. Total 2023 Scott US$643.30 = $868.46 $20.00
Great Britain - Jersey #690/1122. The collection is roughly chronologically mounted (annotated with Stanley Gibbons and Scott numbers), but at some point, spaces were filled with random issues which throws the organization of the collection off a bit. A mix of mint and used, the overall condition is quite nice and there are a number of readable cancels amongst the used material. Housed in a green 2-post "Pelikaan" binder. 382 Netherlands and Colonies #7/575 plus Back of the Book. Old collection remnant in Scott Specialty album with pages to 1978 (binder with a bit of spine damage) and lots of collector added black mounts. The Dutch material is mostly used, starting with some nice 19th century issues (individual catalogue values up to $42.50) and a bit spotty throughout, including with the semi-postals, airmails and postage dues. The collector seemed to have a fondness for perfins and there are a few scattered throughout as "extras". There is a nice run of Netherlands Indies material and a couple of pages each of early Antilles/Curacao and Dutch New Guinea. The balance of the Antilles and all the Surinam material was previously removed, but the pages are still here. Hundreds of stamps and the catalogue value will add up quickly. You never see used material from this South Atlantic colony, but this near-new 16-page red Lighthouse stockbook has lots of it, with smatterings of earlier issues to a fairly strong representation from the mid-1970’s until the early 1990’s, including lots of souvenir sheets. A moderate amount of duplication, and most appear to be philatelically created. Better includes #13-27, #55-67, #443-454 and many topical sets cataloguing $5.00-$10.00 each. Most are in great condition, but some soaking may be required on a few. Estimate = $170.00 $10.00
Tristan Da Cunha - Mostly mint balance of a dealer’s stock, including items on album pages, stockpages, glassines, etc. Includes some early complete booklets (and a couple "exploded"), noted blocks from the "Common Design" period into the 1980’s, lots of souvenir sheets, etc. Up to about 4 of a type. The catalogue value will add up quickly. Estimate = $150.00 $60.00
Tristan Da Cunha - Wholesale lot of mint never hinged sets or short sets to 1/- all on manilla stockcards in old glassines (and some individually sleeved inside). Includes blocks of 4 of the King George VI overprints to 1/- and multiple singles from the "Fish" and "Resettlement" sets (again to 1/-), along with scattered common design issues, a couple of complete sets of the 1971 revalued definitives and lots of Silver Wedding, "Challenger", Princess Anne and "Returned Settlers" sets from 1973. We have corrected the counts and the catalogue values written on the envelopes (which were done many years ago). Total 2023 Scott US$1166.95 = $1,575.38 $55.00
United Nations - UN (New York, Geneva and Vienna offices). Mint Never Hinged lightly duplicated assortment of stamps and souvenir sheets, 1985-1999 period issues. Includes singles, pairs, se-tenant block and souvenir sheets, with a high original face value "new issue" cost. When an issue is represented, it is usually complete for all three UN offices (NY, Geneva, Vienna). 2023 Scott US$186.75 = $252.10 $22.00
United States #Q1/Q11. Selection of nine different mint 1913 Parcel Post issues, fresh and hinged. Missing only the 20c, 50c and $1.00 denominations and comes with duplicated 5c and 25c values. One of philately’s great designs. Total 2023 Scott US$375.75 = $507.26 $30.00
United States - Back of the book, the balance of a consignment, with chaos and potential throughout. Lots of mint and used airmails up to about 1982 (used C1-C6 and a bit damaged "Baby Zep"), special delivery, parcel post, postage dues, even several Confederate States items. Album pages, envelopes, while a bit hard with pictures to get a sense as to what is here, there is good value based on the reasonable estimate. Expect a bit of duplication. Estimate = $160.00 $38.00
United States - Two collections of 19th century fancy and attractive town cancels, starting with a mounted collection of 72 stamps from the 1860’s with some beauties! The second consists of a broader range of a couple dozen slightly later issues again with some very nice cork cancels. Unchecked for condition, but we expect that they were primarily selected for their cancels. That having been said, they do look better than we usually see of these lots. Total of 96 stamps. Estimate = $200.00 $80.00
United States - Canal Zone #1, 3. Two of the three original overprints on Panamanian stamps from June 1904. The 2c rose is overprinted in light violet with a slight doubling (most noticeable in "Zone" - double overprint catalogues $4250!). The 10c is overprinted in a darker ink. Both are heavily hinged with little original gum. The 10c is stuck to a piece of wax paper. Total 2023 Scott US$1050.00 = $1,417.50 $26.00
United States - Canal Zone - Old time accumulation with an extensive range of early overprints (both on American and Panamanian stamps), followed by a nice run of later issues including airmails. Noted some coils, a few precancels and a number of mint blocks. A bit haphazardly mounted, but the overall condition looks decent. Expect some duplication. Better includes the 1939 Panama Canal anniversary set and early overprints with catalogue values up to $85.00 each. Estimate = $180.00 $24.00
United States - Hawaii #O1-O6. Complete set of the 1896 "Department of Foreign Affairs" issue showing Lorrin Thurston. The first five denominations are original gum, with various degrees of hinging (O1 has a pulled perf at bottom) and the 25c value has no gum. Rarely seen by us. 2023 Scott US$300.00 = $405.00 $22.00
United States - Hawaii - Scarce revenue stamp offering. Five different stamps, including #R2 (rouletted 50c with a used single and strip of 4), R9 (used), R13 (mint), R14 (mint and two used) and a mint never hinged block of 15 of R11. Not often seen and these are very nice examples. Estimate = $250.00 $12.00
United States - Philippines #C1/C62. Airmail extravaganza, a near complete and nearly all mint run of issues under American administration between 1926-1941. Includes the Madrid-Manila issue up to the 30c (missing the 16c denominations), the complete London-Orient overprints, the Von Gronau Issue and the Rein Issue onwards. C47 and C57 are the only two used stamps. The appearance is great, but the backs are a bit mixed, with a few having little original gum, and most are moderately hinged. Total 2023 Scott US$888.50 = $1,199.48 $130.00
United States Revenues #R85, R100. Internal Revenue duo with the $3.00 green "Charter Party" imperforate with six small CDS cancels. The perforated $25.00 "Mortgage" stamp has a light socked on the nose revenue cancel (and has the perforations trimmed at the left). Expected usual condition for issues of the type. 2023 Scott US$500.00 = $675.00 $11.00
United States Revenues #RD286, 309, 312. Scarce trio of Internal Revenue Stock Transfer tax stamps, with #RD286 ($10,000 overprinted "Series 1948"), with the usual cut cancel and a light dated office cancel (listed, but unpriced in Scott). Then there are denominations overprinted for "Series 1949" include the $1000 #RD309, a clean copy and the $10,000 #RD312 with the usual cut cancel. Estimate = $250.00 $24.00
United States Revenues - A revenue holding in two major parts. Part One: Scott Specialty pages that have significant numbers of "Narcotics" and "Tobacco" or "Cigar" stamps. The pages for many other types of revenue stamp are here, but alas the stamps are long gone. The binder is a bit worn, but still quite functional. Part Two: Red dealer box stuffed full of individually identified and priced revenues in "102" cards. More used than mint, a wide range of material, but most appear to be under $5.00 a stamp. Because the hard work of identification and sorting has been done this is a great way to expand your stock or collection. This type of material doesn’t come around often. Estimate = $300.00 $85.00
United States Revenues - If you have any interest in US revenues or want to learn more about the American "back of the book", then this amazing holding will be right for you. Documentary Stamps with denominations up to $1000., Stock Transfer Stamps, Liberty Savings Stamps, Duck Stamps (noted 1946 and 1947 licenses), US occupation stamps in Germany, State Rxevenues, 4x "bingo card" Taxi Licensing cards from the early 1980’s, plus pages pulled from 4 different collections and a complete pane of 50x R734 (catalogues $250.00). Hundreds of stamps, offered as received. Estimate = $300.00 $200.00
USA - Cover / FDC Accumulation. Box containing 525 USA covers / First Day Covers 1950’s-2010. Includes roughly 300 covers from the 1998 to 2010 period on homemade pages, sorted into 7 binders and then 225 loose covers. We noted lots of singles, blocks, sets and pictorial postmarks. A very clean offering. Estimate = $150.00 $11.00
USA - An eclectic balance of used "odds and ends" in a 32-page stockbook. The highlight is postally used full VF set of "Celebrate the Century" s/s (Scott 3182-3191, 2019 CV US$85.00), Independence s/s VF set (1686-89, CV US$15.00), Ameriplex 86 s/s set (2216-2219, CV US$16.00), The Voyages of Columbus s/s set (2624-29, CV US$20.50), etc. Difficult to find postally used in such clean condition. Total owner’s Scott 2019 CV of catalogued stamps (including some earlies and modern high face values in mixed condition) is US$462.00. There are also 700 heavy duplicated non-catalogued used stamps (US$175+ catalogue), 6 vintage Ohio State Sales Tax stamps, plus US$51.00 of face value in mint no gum modern postage. A good sorter lot. Estimate = $130.00 $26.00
USA Covers - Small box containing 115 "Wartime" covers, primarily WWII era APO (Army Post Office) covers, but also including earlier (WWI) and later (Korean, Middle East) and some Navy mail. A few identified, but largely untouched and un-identified, acquired by a collector many decades ago and then stored away unresearched. A wide range of postmarks, censors and envelope types (airmail, V-mail, election ballot, patriotic). We noted return addresses of both East Coast / West Coast, which shows that these APO covers will be a mix of both the Asia / Alaska and European offices. Estimate = $120.00 $10.00
Vietnam - Selection of 236 stamps, mint (mostly) Never Hinged, but also some used from the 1945-1976 period, from both North and South Vietnam (Vietnam / Viet Cong) areas. All neatly arranged and identified on pages, which includes notable items #496-500 (Mint NH, catalogue $75.00) and 1L4 (Mint Hinged, catalogue $20.00). Owner's 2022 Scott US$414.35 = $559.50 $32.00
Vietnam - Well organized used offering of 922 stamps, including approximately 90 sets from the 1951-1993 period, all neatly arranged on manila stocksheets. While these are CTO (cancelled to order) stamps, and the large perforations lead to some irregular separations, this is almost the only way to obtain these issues. Seldom offered material. Owner's 2022 Scott US$313.60 = $423.35 $11.00
Vietnam Democratic Republic - A visually enthralling selection of 51 stamps, used / CTO from the 1953-1959 period, all neatly arranged and identified on a single Vario double-sided stockpage. A tumultuous time for this region, which had particularly low printing quality for its stamps (as can be seen in the issues of the period). We don't see this material often. 2024 Scott US$207.00 = $279.45 $38.00
Worldwide - Bankers box crammed full with about 20lbs of mostly modern "on and off" paper, largely unchecked by the consignor, offered as received. A wonderful sorting project. Estimate = $170.00 $24.00
Worldwide - Bankers Box Estate Offering. A box stuffed with "Rest of Central Europe" which has no Great Britain, but includes Scandinavia and Russia. Neatly organized into envelopes based on country (and then often chronologically within the country). A wonderful sorting group, and while most of the covers / sets are in the 50c-$3.00 range, there is a ton of them! Estimate = $120.00 $42.00
Worldwide - Bankers Box of a collector’s "out of their areas of collecting interest" holding, which finally came to a breaking-point and made its way down to us for consignment. In no particular order, we noted...1) A dozen or so postcards / covers, including BC RPO cancel Letter Bills and a Cuban "Certificate for Bounty on Noxious Birds". 2) Binder with 30+ Vario stocksheets, crammed with topical stamps "Animals / Fish / Costumes / Boats and Ships". 3) Two small boxes crammed with "102" cards with Worldwide stamps (sets, singles and "odds and ends"). 4) File folder with a few hundred stamps on pages (mostly Europe and South America). 5) "Pot of Gold" chocolate box with approx. 500x "102" cards with stamps of Hungary. 6) Small wooden box with sorted used GB Machin stamps. 7) Small chocolate box with WW on-paper. 8) "Round the World Stamp Album" circa 1930 with a few hundred stamps. 9) Three stockbooks filled with stamps, two of which are "Worldwide", the third "Russia". A nice sort ahead for the intrepid collector. Estimate = $150.00 $16.00
Worldwide - Bankers box, stuffed with a pair of "Ambassador" albums (with worldwide, mostly used), a red springback (a bit sparse, but with a smattering of older WW) and then many handfuls of glassines and dealer cards, featuring a little bit of everything. A good "sorter" lot, perfect to spread out over the table over the winter. Estimate = $120.00 $16.00
Worldwide - Box of "Curated" Topical collections, including "The History of Aviation" with 50 First Day Covers, each mounted on its own page (circa 1978). Keeping with the transportation theme, there is a pair of pocket albums with Train stamps, circa 1985 (often Caribbean in a pair on a page with an extensive description of the train). Next topic is Olympics sports (a first day collection for the 1980 Moscow and another for the 1988 Summer and Winter games). For animal collectors there is a pair of albums produced for the World Wildlife Fund circa 1980 (mint stamp/set with matching maxi-card and FDC). Finally, there is a thin volume with non-US countries commemorating the United States’ 1976 Bicentennial on FDCs. These sets had outrageous original costs, often targeted at non-collectors or as "investments". They have significant value still when broken up for retail sale. Estimate = $140.00 $10.00
Worldwide - Complete booklet assortment in a small box, mostly from the 1970s to 1980s. Strength is in Germany (including Berlin and DDR with the start of a specialized look at 2DM booklets), Great Britain (noted a £1 Wedgewood), with a scattering of booklets from Australia, Gibraltar, Japan, Ireland, New Zealand, Lesotho, Falkland and Ascension Islands, Tuvalu, Papua New Guinea, Vanuatu, the Vatican, even St. Pierre and Miquelon and few others (no Canada or USA). About 150 booklets, with a bit of duplication. A deal at the estimated value of a buck apiece! Estimate = $150.00 $28.00
Worldwide - Europe, South and Central America, UK and Commonwealth (including Canada). Several thousands mostly different stamps in 4 stockbooks (3x 32 page and 1x 64- page). Noted mint never hinged Netherlands (1983 year set), Luxemburg, useful Poland (including MNH O30-O31 in folded sheets), some Portugal and Belgian colonies (including Ruanda Scott 22 MH etc), some modern postally used West Europe and Japan, plus topicals, odds and ends from UK, British Pacific, British Africa, India, etc. Both MH, MNH. One entire stockbook is modern Canada with some higher face values here and there. Noted some old price tags on pre-independence stamps(from Scott 2014 and 2019, some items up to $13). Some usual faults, but mostly clean and a great lot to sort (plus some decent stockbooks). Estimate = $150.00 $17.00
Worldwide - Interesting balance of a consignment fills a banker’s box. In order we noted a Stanley Gibbons springback binder filled with a European collection (strength in Germany, Netherlands and Italy). There is a 1961 Ambassador album with pages from an old Latin American collection inserted throughout. Possibly from the same old album are three file folders with classic-era material from the British Commonwealth and Europe. There is a mint sheet file with over 40 Mexican first day cover panels from the 1980’s and a handful of worldwide "penny approvals" mounted on pages in duo-tang folders. The remaining spaces are filled with 7 smaller stockbooks with mostly Great Britain and some British Commonwealth. Lots of potential here. Estimate = $160.00 $10.00
Worldwide - Multi-country European consignment balance. Each country has anywhere from a single page to a small mounted collection, with stockpages, approval sheets, loose stamps, etc. Most appear to have been acquired in the 1980’s, so mostly older material. In no particular order, we noted: Italy (nice used pre-1950 collection), France, Austria, Croatia, Switzerland, Sweden, Vatican, Yugoslavia, Estonia, Latvia, Monaco, Spain, Netherlands, Norway, San Marino, DDR, Russia - and more! More used than mint, mostly common looking material, but there is potential everywhere. Estimate = $180.00 $11.00
Worldwide - Scandinavia in chock-full 32-page stockbook. Includes used Sweden 1891-2018 with some duplication (Scott 2019 CV US$660.15, full inventory enclosed, all lower and mid-values but very clean and useful), Denmark 1951-2003 (used non-duplicated in complete sets only, plus some mint hinged, Scott 2019 CV US$353.20, full inventory) and better Greenland (Scott 463, 497a MNH). There are smaller contingents from Norway (CV US$134.15), Iceland (some faults), Slesvig, Finland, Aland and Faroe. Lots of nice Slavia-engraved stamps! All stamps identified. Owner's 2019 Scott US$1,368.65 = $1,847.65 $22.00
Worldwide - Selection of 74 different used "earlies" to 1940’s (mostly Europe), with all stamps cataloging between US$5.00 and US$80.00. All individually identified and valued on a double-sided stockpage. Select, sound examples, but the consignor notes there may be the odd short perf, mentioned "for the record". 2024 Scott US$1383.00 = $1,867.05 $22.00
Worldwide - Several binders and albums fill a banker’s box. There is a Netherlands Davo album with a decent mint collection of 1923-1963 issues. There is a mounted used accumulation of Canada back to the early 1900’s, and single country concentrations of Canada, Hungary and Australia, with a bit of Great Britain and some more Canada. The lot finishes with a British Commonwealth grouping with "N" to "Z" colonies and a few loose pages and small manila stockbooks. There is some picking potential here. Estimated value = $130.00 $13.00
Worldwide - Uhaul Box Part 1. Bring your patience or your collecting friends (or both) as this U-Haul box is packed with shoeboxes and freezer bags full of almost everything on and off paper. Thousands upon thousands of stamps, some a bit sorted, most not. Near the bottom is some Great Britain with some potential but other than seeing a wall of stamps, it was very hard to get what is here. Generally, more used than mint, most are 20th century, with a mix of definitives and commemoratives from dozens of nations. A great couple of days’ worth of fun here! Estimate = $150.00 $13.00
Worldwide - Uhaul Box Part 2: If you still have patience or still have collecting friends, this is a second U-Haul box from the same source, packed with shoeboxes and glassines full of almost everything on and off paper. Thousands upon thousands of stamps - some a bit sorted, most not. When we opened a couple of the boxes, we noted some densely packed stamps of stamps, it was very hard to get what is here. Thousands upon thousands of stamps - some a bit sorted, most not. When we opened the box, we saw some densely packed stamps of stamps, it was very hard to get what is here. A couple of the boxes are predominantly tightly packed off-paper miscellany.
