Bid
Aden #2-4. A trio of values from the 1937 "Dhow" issue in complete mint, never hinged panes of 80, including a full inscription at the bottom centre and a plate number in the lower right corner. They look great and are well packaged, but the indication is that there is lots of perf separation. 2024 Scott US$1060.00 = $1,431.00 $10.00
Argentina - Lovely collection of primarily used Argentina, 1858-1974, containing roughly 1,300 stamps, well organized in several hingeless Scott Specialty album pages housed in a binder. The collection generally ranges from Scott #1/1025, along with a good range of Officials, and other back of the book stamps. A spot check indicated some stamps and partial sets ranging $5 to $15 each. Owner's older Scott catalogue value for the collection totals US$2,211.00 ($2984.85 CDN). A nice collection that should be expanded, overall fine to very fine. Estimate = $200.00 $22.00
Armenia #278-294, 278a-294a. Complete mint Never Hinged sets of the 1921 Soviet Socialist Republic series of 17 different values, in both the perforated and imperforate versions (two complete sets). Seldom seen material. 2024 Scott US$276.00 = $372.60 $10.00
Australia #132. Well centered partial CDS used example of the 1932 issue 5sh gray green "Sydney Bridge" high value commemorative. This stamp is almost always found off centre. Very light pressed out crease UL, noticeable in fluid. 2024 Scott US$275.00 = $371.25 $0.00
Australia - Collection / accumulation of used Australia, 1913-2018, with a few thousand stamps in roughly 55 double-sided Vario-style stock pages housed in a thick binder. The lot generally ranges from Scott #1/4863, including Kangaroos (x15, mostly later watermark types), and with particular strength in modern post-2000 issues, and includes some back of the book material, Cook Islands, Antarctic Territories, and more. A spot check indicated a few stamps cataloguing in the $5 to $15 range, leaving finds to the dedicated collector. Surprisingly little duplication throughout, with photos showing a small sample. Estimate = $200.00 $36.00
Australia / Christmas Island - Lovely group of roughly 160 Christmas Island and Australia first day covers, 1950's-1980's, with roughly 90 covers from Christmas Island with the vast majority having set frankings, along with Australia first days having singles and sets frankings. The lot also includes roughly 20 Australian Antarctic Territory first day covers (various postmarks from the territory). A very nice lot ideal for the cover, topical and thematic collector, noting several suitable subjects and colorful cachets. Estimate = $120.00 $10.00
Basutoland #1-10. Complete mint Hinged set of the 1933 George V "Crocodile" series of 10 different values, from 1/2d to 10sh. Post Office fresh. 2025 Scott US$368.75 = $497.80 $32.00
Belgium #2/12. A quintet of used imperforate Leopold I stamps, with a range of watermarks, papers and denomination. Includes #2, #3, #8a, #9, #12. All have 3 or more margins, a couple with nice numeral cancels. 2024 Scott US$692.50 = $934.90 $11.00
Belgium #6, 7. A page with a study lot of 63 copies of the 1851 printings of the 10c and 20c Leopold I imperforate issue with unframed watermark. Includes 22 copies of the 10c and 41 of the 20c, with a wide range of shades and margin width. There are lots of numeral cancels, unchecked by anyone as far as we know. 2024 Scott US$515.00 = $695.25 $10.00
Belgium #16/463. A selection of 23 different Belgian issues, mostly pre-1935 but with a couple from the later King Badouin issue. These have been selected for cataloguing over $10.00 a stamp, but we noted values go up to $90.00 a stamp, and a number have lovely "socked on the nose" town or numeral cancels. A couple of small faults are noted, but overall these are very clean and will help you fill in some of the spaces in your Belgium collection. 2024 Scott US$513.00 = $692.55 $13.00
Belgium #B28/B1079, C3/C10, CB1/CB3, E1/E5, J1/J67, N1/N20, O9/O53, P6/P40, Q1/Q469. One collector’s extensive accumulation of used 20th century "back of the book" issues. The strength is in the Railway/Parcel stamps, with lots of potential for railway cancel collectors. The Semi-postal, air mail, special delivery, postage due, occupation, official and newspaper issues are all a bit hit or miss. All are nicely organized onto 29 manila stockpages, with up to about 20 of a stamp, individually identified by Scott and recently updated to current catalogue values. Most individual stamps catalogue less than $10.00 each, but there are over 3000 stamps here, so there could be a couple gems in hiding. Estimate = $200.00 $18.00
Belgium - Lovely collection of used Belgium, 1851-2001, containing well over 1,000 stamps, well organized on homemade pages housed in a thick binder. The strength of this collection is the singles, sets, and partial sets ranging from the 1850's up to the 1950's, with scattered material thereafter. The collection also includes better representation of back of the book issues including semi-postals, railway and parcel posts, newspaper, and German occupation stamps, along with Belgian Congo issues. A quick spot check indicated several stamps cataloguing in the $10 to $20 ranging including Scott # 47-48 (c.v. $70 total), 102 ($25), leaving other finds to the dedicated collector. Postmark interest includes numeral and cds types, including several socked on the nose town cancels. A lovely collection with room for expansion, a few small faults to be expected, with online photos showing a sampling. Estimate = $250.00 $10.00
Bermuda #19/283. Used wholesale accumulation, only partly organized on old stockpages. Covers the late Victorian period to the early Queen Elizabeth era, with almost nothing from King George VI. What there is here is some nice "Dry Dock", "Caravel" to 1/-, Seal of the Colony (noting 13 copies of #68) and KGV "Local Representation" other KGV issues. The Elizabethan material includes lots of examples from the 1953 definitives, including a couple of £ values and lots of 10/- (#161-162). Plus, there are some nice cancels and a few multiples to help you round out your collection. Most of the earlier material has not been sorted for watermarks, but we suspect that more gems are in hiding. Estimate = $180.00 $36.00
Bermuda #123a, 123b, 124a, 125, 125a, 126, 126a, 127a, 127c, 128, 128a, 128b. VF mint Hinged (generally Lightly) powerful selection of 12 different 1938-1951 George VI mid/high-value Key Plates, all neatly arranged on a stockpage. A sometimes difficult issue to navigate, especially if you don't have multiple examples to compare against each other. These all line-up with Scott listed numbers, but Gibbons expands further on different printings / shades. 2025 Scott US$1117.00 = $1,507.95 $80.00
Bermuda - An old blue Fil-I-Safe 2-post stockbook from Hollad holds this small, but potential laden accumulation of mostly mint Bermuda covering the first half of the 20th century. We saw lots of "Caravels" (unchecked for watermarks), a few "Dry Docks", a very attractive page of King George V "Seal of the Colony" and "Local Representation" issues (individual stamps here to $25.00 catalogue value). There are large quantities of the KGV and KGVI "pictorial" issues to 1/- (with lots of never hinged here), and individual catalogue values to $5.00 (such as #121D). Finishes with a touch of later common design issues. Substantial catalogue value here. Estimate = $200.00 $44.00
Bosnia and Herzegovina #1/127, B1/B20, J1/J24, P1/P4, QE1/QE2. Fourteen manila stockpages filled with a collector’s accumulation of mint and used stamps from the pre-Yugoslavia period (with a touch of post-breakup issues). The strength is in the "classic" period, noting better singles such as #6 (9 mint copies), Franz Josef issues (#84), #116a (six mint, one used) and postage dues (#J24 x 2 mint). While there is more mint than used, some nice cancels are throughout. Stamps are individually identified by Scott number with an (older) catalogue value. Few faults were noted. A couple of reprints or imperf pairs are noted. Estimate = $170.00 $22.00
Bosnia and Herzegovina #34c/45L. A mint hinged selection of various "compound perforation" issues from the 1906 "Pictorial" issue caused by individual sheets being line perforated with very different perforation gauges between various rows, causing single stamps to have 2 or 3 different perforated sides. This is a fresh looking group, with four different variants of the 5kr Franz Josef issue. Owner’s 2021 Scott Specialized catalogue value US$1067.25 = $1,440.80 $10.00
British Antarctic Territory - A collector's assembly of 111 mostly different stamps, neatly arranged and identified on album pages / stockpages. Primarily mint, and Lightly Hinged, with some Never Hinged and used in the mix as well. Noted many complete sets and a wealth of topical interest. Owner's 2021 Scott US$569.70 = $769.10 $28.00
British Commonwealth - A British Africa assembly of mint Never Hinged 1949-1971 era material, neatly arranged on three double-sided stockpages (6 pages of material here). A very clean run of material, seemingly all-different and mostly in sets. Noted Bechuanaland Protectorate, Gambia, Botswana, Ghana, KUT, Kenya, Lesotho, Malai, Nigeria, Rhodesia and Nyasaland, Rhodesia, Sudan, Tangantika, Tanzania, Zambia, Sierra Leone, Somaliland, South Africa (RSA/SWA) and Swaziland. All identified and valued by an older Scott Catalogue. Older Scott US$1165.00 ($1572.75 CDN). Estimate = $250.00 $32.00
British Commonwealth - A bundle of 125x "102" cards, all with British Commonwealth singles, sets or assemblies. Each priced between $1-$10 each (with a few higher), which is the retail pricing (rather than the catalogue value). Noted strength in Australia, New Zealand and Malta, with both mint and used throughout. Estimate = $130.00 $10.00
British Commonwealth - Collection / accumulation of used Rhodesia (British South Africa) and area, containing many hundreds of stamps in roughly 70 homemade and a few Vario-style stockpages. The strength of the lot are the early issues, ranging from Scott #1/135, including Coat of Arms issues (x88), a few Double Heads, and Admiral issues. A spot check indicated a few better stamps noting #s 44-46 (c.v. $79 total), 134 ($140), 135 ($100), along with a few items cataloguing $5 to $10 and up. The lot also includes selections of Rhodesia, Nyasaland, and more. Duplication up to 5 for a few issues, noting a few stamps with socked on the nose postmarks. A nice lot for the Commonwealth collector, with room for further expansion. Estimate = $150.00 $10.00
British Commonwealth - Collections of used British Commonwealth, 1870's-1990's, containing roughly 1,000 stamps, well organized on a few hundred album or homemade pages housed in 7 binders. A spot check indicated some Victorian singles, with a few sets and partial sets from 1900 onwards, with catalogue values ranging from $5 to $15 and up in a few cases. A nice starter lot, which could hold a few surprises, with online photos showing a sampling. A few faults expected, overall fine to very fine. Estimate = $250.00 $36.00
British Commonwealth - Lovely group of a few hundred British Commonwealth covers in a plastic tub, generally ranging from the 1930's to the 1980's, with a few beyond the given range. The vast majority of material are first day covers (primarily set frankings), with better representation from Great Britain (including a few numismatic covers), Hong Kong, Australia, to name a few. A few larger sized envelopes noted. Ideal for the collector or show dealer. Estimate = $140.00 $0.00

A couple minor gum faults (including gum bleed on the earlier stamps), but overall nice condition, from a country we don't see too often. 2025 Scott US$725.75 = $979.75 $42.00

Lots of $3-$5 stamps throughout, with a few better than that, with lots of tropical appeal (e.g. fish, flowers, butterflies). Few faults noted, great for building or upgrading your collection, as we don’t see much post 1970’s Belize material. Estimate = $160.00 $10.00
British Solomon Islands #8/275. A mostly mint collection of 204 different stamps from the 1908-1974 period, all neatly arranged on Minkus brand pages (folded, placed in sheet protectors). 30 Bulgaria - Collection of used Bulgaria in Steiner pages, housed in 2 binders. This is more of a starter collection with a few hundred stamps found within, with printed pages with spaces for stamps from 1879 to 2004. A nice way to start this under-appreciated area of philately. Retail cost of these pages is well worth our low estimate. Estimate = $100.00 $0.00

A showpiece item, rarely seen in corner blocks as the majority of these proofs were cut into singles / pairs. 330 Ghana #D24-26. The currency of Ghana changed for the second time in quick succession, and postage due stamps of 1958 had been revalued in 1965 and then revalued again in 1968. However, confusion that might have been caused by a stamp with three separate currencies caused the issue to be scrapped, but three denominations were released at a single post office, before they were pulled. These are complete mint, never hinged, panes of 72 stamps of all three denominations with a sheet and cylinder number. The selvedge has a bit of minor damage and there is some offset on the back from the overprinting process "for the record". Mentioned in a footnote in Scott, but listed in Stanley Gibbons. There are seven glassine envelopes of at least 100 copies each, as received from the consignor. Two glassines worth were put onto black stockpages to give you a sense of what is here. Despite purporting to have 200 copies, there were almost 230 stamps inside. We have left the remaining 5 glassines intact, but they appear to have a wide diversity of usages, shades. While we aren’t making any promises, the indication is that they haven’t been checked to find copies of #88 (the 14 dot corner angles). Perfect for cancel, shade or calendar collectors. Expect a few faults, but overall clean. 2024 Scott US$1855.00 = $2,504.25 $0.00

Great Britain #124. Duo of used examples of the 1891 issue £1 green Victoria, watermarked with three crowns (Wmk 30). Sadly, both with faults (thin, perf faults / trimmed, crease). That being said, a decent way to fill this elusive spot on a budget. 2025 Scott Catalogue would be US$1850.00 ($2497.50 CDN). Estimate = $150.00 $10.00
Great Britain #151/233. Super accumulation Part B: King George V and King Edward VIII, a large assortment of used off-paper stamps, meticulously sorted into #5 sized glassine envelopes, with a pencil notation of its Scott catalogue number and the approximate (conservative) quantity of its contents. With the early material, there is ample material to study shades, cancels and plate flaws. The more recent material can just be difficult to find. Exploring the "back of the book" should be a worthwhile endeavour, too. Fills two shoeboxes, thousands stamps. The catalogue value will be a few thousand dollars. Estimate = $200.00 $10.00

A very colourful period of Hungarian issues, with many full sets, souvenir sheets and even some imperforate issues. One of the best showing of topical stamps on covers we have seen, with notable sets that feature space, autos, sports, butterflies, flowers etc. Estimate = $150.00 $0.00

Catalogued in 2025 Scott at $2429.35 ($3279.60 CDN), but since this lot is so diverse, we have decided to use an estimate instead. Estimate = $450.00 $16.00
Indonesia #342/500. Mint and used hoard Part A: Regular issues from the 1950’s in huge quantities, often sorted into glassines, with some bundleware and roughly organized by Scott (a couple of the boxes are a bit chaotic). Lots of Pres. Sukarno designs here. There can be over 1000 of a type and Indonesian material from this era doesn’t usually surpass a dollar of catalogue value per stamp - but there must be the better part of 100,000 stamps here, as these fill SIX shoeboxes. The condition is great, with most of the mint being never hinged. Estimate = $160.00 $0.00
Indonesia #538/1800. Mint and used hoard Part B: Regular issues from 1961-1970, plus a smattering of issues up to the late 1990’s in huge quantities, often sorted into glassines, with some bundleware and roughly organized by Scott. There can be over 1000 of a type and Indonesian material from this era doesn’t usually surpass a dollar of catalogue value per stamp (didn’t see any souvenir sheets) - but there must be the better part of 100,000 stamps here, as these fill SIX shoeboxes. The condition is great, with most of the mint being never hinged. Estimate = $160.00 $0.00
Indonesia #B58/B206, J66/J104. Mint and used hoard Part C: Back of the book issues from the 1950’s and 1960’s often sorted into glassines, with some bundleware and roughly organized by Scott. There can be over 1000 of a type and Indonesian material from this era doesn’t usually surpass a dollar of catalogue value per stamp, but there must be the better part of 40,000 stamps here, as these fill THREE shoeboxes (2 boxes are semi-postals, 1 box are postage dues). The condition is great, with most of the mint being never hinged. Estimate = $120.00 $0.00
Ireland - Group of roughly 200 Ireland coves, 1940's-1990's, primarily containing first day covers (noting singles and sets frankings), along with commercial mail, post cards, postal stationery, and first flights. Estimate = $120.00 $10.00
Israel - Collection of Special Postmark Covers. Album containing 60 covers from the 1948-1954 period including Interim Mail (the first two covers likely worth the estimate alone). Included an old-time 1953 Simon's Catalogue of Israel Stamps. Estimate = $120.00 $10.00

The collection also includes owner's notations and current catalogue values noting many stamps, sets, and partial sets in the $20 and up range including #s 24-33 (used, c.v. $179 total), 37-44 (used, $114 total), Sardinia 10-15 (mh, $222 total), just to name a few. 383 Italy Offices Abroad - An old-time album page, with a combination of mint and used Italian Offices including General issues ("Estero"), Offices in Crete and Offices in Constantinople. The value adds up quickly here! 2025 Scott US$464.70 = $627.35 $0.00
Italy Roman States #1/25. Some of the "early" issues from 1852 are the real thing, much of the "later" issues from 1867-1868 are reprints or forgeries. Housed on three manila stockpages, this is one collector’s accumulation of these early issues and await the curious or the researcher looking for a "stash" from a range of different sources. Identified by Scott numbers and (older) catalogue values. There could be $1000.00 catalogue value of legitimate issues and a hundred thousand dollars of catalogue value of dubious material. We see this type of material in bits and pieces, but rarely in this quantity or diversity. Estimate = $200.00 $11.00
Italy Sardinia #10/14, P1. Small mint and used accumulation of King Victor Emanuel II issues of 1855-1863 in quantities of up to a dozen of a type. All counted as basic Scott listed items, but a quick glance shows lots of potential to identify shades and possibly some interesting cancels. Individually priced years ago (these are now high), but the value of this material adds up quickly. There is a nice forgery strip of P1b with the "inverted centre", which was made from remnant stock. Lots of catalogue value here and a good chance to increase your knowledge of this Italian State. Estimate = $150.00 $0.00
Italy Tuscany #1/19. A nice group of 17 "Lion" and "Coat of Arms" designs from 1851-1860, most of which are undoubtedly forgeries, but what a high quality group of forgeries they are. Great to learn how to separate the "wheat" from the "chaff". Individual stamps with catalogue values to $27,500! Fascinating. Estimated at less than $10.00 each. Estimate = $140.00 $10.00
Jamaica #16/294 plus Back of the Book. A collector's assembly of mint Hinged / Never Hinged Jamaica, with 207 stamps from the 1863-1969 period, neatly arranged and identified on stockpages, with a very minor amount of duplication. Includes some "back of the book" material with Semi Postals and War Tax. 388 Japan #380/541. Mint selection of post-war issues to the early 1950’s, a period of reconstruction where there are relatively few "cheap" stamps, with nice definitives, National Parks, "Portraits" as well as a number of attractive commemoratives. Expect them all to be hinged, but a few of the later issues are never hinged. Noted #422, #434, #516 amongst the many stamps cataloguing $5.00-$10.00 each. 2024 Scott US$693.40 = $936.10 $12.00
Kenya Uganda Tanganyaki #81, 81a shade variety. VF mint Lightly hinged duo of the 2sh red violet and orange George VI values, featuring the regular issue perf 13.5x13, but also the tougher sub-listed perf 13 (Scott #81a, listed as Gibbons #146 at £130.00!). It is interesting to see the shade variety difference in the printings (printed in 1938 and 1941), which Gibbons acknowledges, but not mentioned in Scott catalogue. 2025 Scott US$150.00 = $202.50 $10.00
Kenya Uganda Tanganyaki #85, 85a. VF mint Lightly hinged duo of the £1.00 black and scarlet George VI high-values, featuring the regular issue perf 14, but also the scarce sub-listed perf 11.5x13 (Scott #85a, listed as Gibbons #150 at £500.00!). A very tough perforation variety to find, especially this nice. 2025 Scott US$325.00 = $438.75 $10.00
Kenya, Uganda and Tanganyika #42/39. Attractive mint Lightly Hinged / Never Hinged group of 90 stamps, mostly all-different including complete sets, from George V to QEII on a double sided stockpage.
