# J2 Lathework
|
An astounding matched pair of postcards, posted from the UK in 1925 (posted same day) to Calgary, Alberta. Assessed postage due (2c) and both postcards franked with Type-D Lathwork examples of the 2c Postage Due stamp (J2). Unitrade lists that used examples of Lathework are generally worth 80% of mint catalogue value, but also notes that "single franked non-philatelic examples used on cover are worth considerably more, often a multiple of used CV". While Type D Lathework has three listings for J2 (wet printing, dry printing, thin paper), as these are used on postcard, we can only assume the lowest given catalogue mint value ($800.00 for a single). A showpiece duo, exhibit worthy. Estimate =
