|
A somewhat crudely produced forgery of the 1865 imperforate 5c rose, using a trimmed down example of the perf 14 issue of the same design, and mounted on similar stamp paper. Attractive legitimate "1" numeral postmark, but legitimate stamp altered to deceive. That being said, the legitimate used example of #3 catalogues at US$11,000.00, making this an interesting conversation piece and chance to put something in the #3 spot for a fraction of the price.
