Basutoland & Bechuanaland Protectorate/Bechuanaland # 1/108, J3/J8 and #7/168, J5a/J7

What do these two British Africa colonies have in common besides being located in the Southern part of the continent? Used stamps are generally harder to find than mint, and this is a nice grouping. The Basutoland includes 13 assorted "Crocodile" issues from King George V and VI, plus a 1935 Silver Jubilee set and some postage dues, with a Scott catalogue value US$78.25. The Bechuanaland issues include overprints on British or Cape of Good Hope stamps (we note #88), plus some later "Cattle" and common design issues. The tall 2/- QV green #17 has a pen cancel and its $65.00 catalogue value is not counted in the Scott value of $251.05. Total 2024 Scott US$329.30 =
