Fine unused (no gum) example of the exceedingly rare, well-known and popular "Man on the Mast" plate variety on the 1929 issue 50c Bluenose. A choice quality example of this constant engraved plate variety showpiece. This variety is the Holy Grail of all the GeoV plate varieties. There is a very shallow thin, likely from a heaving hinging at some point, mentioned "for the record".
