Italy Polish Forces

During the Second World War a group of Polish exiles fought under the British Army in Italy. A series of stamps were issued as "Polish Forces in Italy". They are listed in Sassone but Scott treats them as non-official or "Cinderella" stamps. Towards the end of the war, several of the stamps were overprinted in honour of US President Franklin Roosevelt and his vision of "Four Freedoms". This lot consists of five denominations, each overprinted, in complete gutter panes of 50 stamps each (100 stamps in total - the sheets are of a substantial size and are folded in mint sheet file pages). A couple have some minor gum disturbance, otherwise they are about as nice as you are likely to find. Estimate =
