Part D: A mint and used accumulation of a short but important period in Ceylon’s philately, with the transition from King George V issues (1935-6 pictorials - noting #274 (5x mint, 9x used) and transitioning to King George VI. There are a dozen sets of the 1937 Coronation issue used. The technical King George VI pictorial issue which suffered from wartime production woes is well represented (noting: #279a, #285, #286a, #286b, multiples mint and used copies of #289 and#289A used. Generally, up to a dozen of a type. Overall condition is quite good, with only the occasional minor fault noted. Most items annotated with Scott numbers and (older) catalogue values. This is a collector’s duplicates, not a dealer’s stock, and has never been seen by the collecting community. Estimate =
