Mail censorship in Canada WWI. Esquimalt, BC February 9th 1916 split ring Admiral issue cover locally sent to Victoria. Small 16.5mm diameter Passed HMS Kent, CENSOR marking in the lower right corner. The cruiser HMS Kent, which had fought at the battle of the Falkland Islands, and later at the destruction of the German cruiser Dresden, came to Esquimalt for general refit in May 1915. An rare cover, still mounted on an original Bill Robinson exhibit page. Estimate
