Cameroons #1/951, B1/B38, C1/C318, CB1-CB3, J3/J49. Tightly organized French-Africa colony collector’s stock on 19 manila stockpages, starting with a half page of "Kaiser’s Yacht" issues, transitioning to overprints on French stamps, and then moving onto local themed issues. Includes some classic material, common design issues and some topicals. Generally, up to 8 of a type, with a good mix of mint, used and sometimes both. Includes issues released up to 2005 including a nice mix of back of the book. Lots of sets and singles in the $1-$10 catalogue value range. Each is identified by Scott number and (2011) catalogue values. Estimate = $150.00
History

52
Canada #1. Fine three-margin (just in at top) used example of the 1851 issue 3 Penny Beaver imperf on horizontally laid paper (good strong laid-lines visible), with 7-ring target cancel. A very respectable example of Canada's "number one". 2024 Scott US$1,200.00 = $1,620.00
History

53
Canada #4, 7, 8. Used trio of 1852-1857 "Pence" imperforates including the 3d red "Beaver", 10d blue Jacques Cartier and 1/2d rose Queen Victoria. Each VG/Fine appearing, but all have faults (cut in margins, creases, shallow thins). A great way to fill in a few spots on your first Canada album page, while staying spend-conscious. Estimate = $200.00
History

54
Canada #4d. Sound and VF used example, top sheet-margin example of the 3p beaver on thin paper. Full to huge margins all around, attractive concentric ring postmark. Very pretty! 2024 Scott US$225.00 = $303.75
History

55
Canada #5. VG/Fine used example of the 1855 issue 6p slate grey "Prince Albert" imperforate on wove paper. Margins are cut-in around, but still a good stamp to fill the spot in the album on a budget. One of the more elusive "Pence" issues. 2025 Scott US$1150.00 = $1,552.50
History

56
Canada #7. Used example of the 1855 issue 10p blue imperforate Cartier on thin pelure paper. Margins full to large on two sides, but cut-into design on top and right (top). Attractive light postmark, giving a much better view of Cartier than usually seen. 2024 Scott US$1,500.00 = $2,025.00
History

57
Canada #9. Attractive looking VG appearing used example of the 7½p green Queen Victoria 1857 imperf pence issue, but with tight margins (to just in) and with thin spot visible from the back. A good stamp to fill the spot in an album, until a better example can be acquired. 2025 Scott US$3000.00 = $4,050.00
History

58
Canada #12. Used example of the 3p red "Beaver" provisional 1858 "perforated pence" issue. Fine centered with a reasonable Toronto "grid" postmark. A very respectable example of this early perforated Canadian classic and missing from most collections we see. 2025 Scott US$1,400.00 = $1,890.00
History

59
Canada #14/20a. Attractive used offering of 7x 1859 "First Cents" issues, plus the 1864 QV issued 2c deep claret rose, including shades neatly arranged on a stockcard. History

60
Canada #15vii. Fine centered used example of the rare and popular "rock in the waterfall" plate flaw (position 53) on the 5c Beaver from the 1859 "First Cents" series. An above average example of this variety, with sharp crisp perforations all around. 2024 Unitrade = $650.00
History

61
Canada #19 Cover. Single use of the 17c Cartier cover from Hamilton CW (ONT) to London, England, sent May 30th 1864. A pretty example of this single use "Cents", properly used, with a couple tears at top, mentioned "for the record" Valued "on cover" by Unitrade catalogue. 2024 Unitrade = $400.00
History

62
Canada #20. Fine+ unused (no gum / partial re-gum) example of the 1864 2c rose Victoria issue. Well centered for this issue, but with a couple minor perf faults. Catalogued as unused / no gum. 2024 Scott Classic US$500.00 = $675.00
History

63
Canada #21/30. Used septet of Large Queens, from the 1/2c to 15c values. A nice "sampler", unchecked for better shades or paper varieties, from an old-time collection. A couple small faults noted (1c yellow short-perfs, 15c with margin tear), but overall cleaner than usually seen. 2025 Scott US$715.00 = $965.25
History

64
Canada #22. Fine unused no gum example of the 1c brown red 1868 issue Large Queen. Nice deep and rich colour. 2024 Scott Classic US$600.00 = $810.00

65
Canada #22b. VF centred unused (no gum) example of the 1868 issue 1c brown red Large Queen on thin paper. One short perf at left, mentioned "for the record", but an exceptionally well centered example of this tough stamp. 2024 Scott Classic US$700.00 = $945.00
History

66
Canada #23iii. F/VF centered used example of the Unitrade listed 1c yellow orange Large Queen on thin paper (Duckworth paper 9). A very elusive paper type. A couple mint perf faults, noted for the record. A great reference item. Conservatively valued in the grade of Fine. 2024 Unitrade = $500.00

History

68
Canada #24a. F/VF used example of the 2c green Large Queen on watermarked paper (showing the letters "OTH" of "Bothwell"). Far better than we usually see, with attractive 2-ring numeral cancel. 2024 Scott US$400.00 = $540.00
History

69
Canada #25a. Used example of the watermarked 3c red Large Queen showing a portion of "TH" (of Bothwell). Few short perfs noted and small tear LL corner. Still a nice example of this watermark paper, which presents well. 2025 Scott US$500.00 = $675.00
History

70
Canada #28, 28i. Duo of F/VF used 12.5c blue Large Queens, showing both the blue and milky blue shades. The milky blue (Unitrade #28i) is particularly nice. Both valued as the basic shade. 2025 Scott US$250.00 = $337.50
History

71
Canada #28/47. Large Queen, Small Queen and Widow Weeds holding, and what a holding it is. There are only 7 Large Queens from the 12-1/2c and 15c values, but there are many Small Queens of all denominations, printings with some identified perforation and shade variants (with potential for more discovery) and 20 copies of the Widow Weeds. There are many nice cancels (including a couple of "crown" cancels and a few Western cancels), and there are "jumbo" copies scattered throughout. While some faults are to be expected, this is a cleaner than normal lot, and we don’t believe that a specialist has ever looked at these. Total 2024 Scott US$4311.00 = $5,819.85
History

72
Canada #29c. Attractive fine used (minor perf faults, rounded UR corner) example of the 15c grey violet Large Queen with "E & G BOTHWELL CLUTHA MILLS" watermark showing the "G" and partial "B" portions of the watermark (from E&G BOTHWELL portion). 2025 Scott US$1,200.00 = $1,620.00

History

74
Canada #30a. VF used JUMBO example of the scarce 1873 printing perf 11.5 x 12 greenish grey shade of the 15c Large Queen. One short perf at left "noted for the record", which does not detract much from this stunning "one in a thousand" stamp. 2025 Scott US$500.00 = $675.00
History

75
Canada #34 Cover. Attractive single-franking example of the 1/2c black Small Queen on circular rate cover, posted to Liverpool NS, backstamped April 28th 1892. A wonderful example of the single use of the 1/2c stamp, being a scarce dated example (as almost all these circular rates are undated, as Post Office regulations only required them to be cancelled only with a grid). An attractive addition to any postal history collection, or "plus-value" add-on to a traditional stamp collection. 2024 Unitrade = $300.00
History

76

History

81
Canada #50/60. Jubilee Extravaganza. An attractive wholesale group of Jubilees covering every denomination up to the 50c with 1 to 34 copies of each stamp. Besides having solid catalogue value, there are some nice cancels throughout. Five of the stamps appear to be mint, no gum, but all are counted as used. A few minor faults are noted, and centering is variable, as always. One of Canada’s most popular issues! Total 2024 Scott US$3484.50 = $4,704.08
History

82
Canada #50/60. Mint selection of 10 different 1897 QV Jubilee issues, with values from 1/2c to 50c. Most of the lower values have gum issues (no gum, disturbed gum, hinge thins). That being said, the 3c, 10c, 15c and 50c values are just hinged / hinge remnant without faults. Estimate = $150.00

Seven boxes, each holding a couple hundred #8 sized envelopes, with each envelope holding a few to a few hundred stamps, with a description of the stamp inside (and there can be several envelopes for each stamp). Tens of thousands of stamps here, with potential for cancels and varieties. The "sleeper" component to the lot may be the handful of revenues (e.g. law stamp, war/excise tax) stamps with both federal and provincial issues. These are less sorted, and a quick look indicates both diversity and potential. Fills a couple of large shipping boxes. Estimate = $200.00

Bermuda #1/197. A used collection of Bermuda 1865-1965, neatly arranged in a lightly used 16-page Lighthouse stockbook. A strong collection, starting with #1 and well-represented in both the Victorian era and later reigns. The owner has helpfully identified all stamps. Some Gibbons colour varieties not noted by Scott are included and the odd mint can be found here or there (very few). Most stamps are clean and generally fine-plus copies, though some small faults in the earlier can be expected. The owner has not reviewed the high denomination key-plates against colour or plate varieties so there may be more to discover, and those with fiscal cancels have been counted at 10% of catalogue. A lovely and reasonably comprehensive collection of this popular colony, perfect for the classic collector or as a backbone for specialization. 227 stamps in total. Owner's 2024 Scott US$2,485.00 =

*On our great bidboard page you will notice that we have included a declining clock that displays the time remaining in the sale, subject to the addition of overtime. There is an automatic 3 minute bidding extension if a bid is submitted on any lot within the last 3 minutes on the bidding clock. These time extensions will continue to occur until there is a 3 minute period during which no bidding takes place. We expect overtime with this type of bidding will last two to three hours in extra bidding time. This extra time will allow you to make sure you get the lots you really want to get right away.
