Weeda's Weekly Stamp Sale

Bidboard # 1971

Lot # 150

Canada and USA -
An old-time collection of (mostly) used, arranged on school-time quadrille pages. The Canadian stamps start in 1859, with the 5c Beaver, followed by a 1/2c Large Queen, Small Queens, 50c Widow Weed, 4x QV Jubilees (including a deep blue shade of the 50c value), Edwards to 10c, complete 1908 Tercentenary (5c, 10c, 15c, 20c mint, with the latter having a face scuff), Admirals, Confederation, Scroll (including 50c Bluenose / $1.00 Parliament), 1935 Pictorial, 1938 Pictorial, 1942 War Issue, 1946 Peace (50c and $1.00 mint) plus some "back of the book" and revenues. The USA portion has a smattering from several better sets including 1893 Columbian, 1898 Trans Mississippi, 1907 Jamestown, Parcel Post etc. Condition is a bit mixed (as usually seen on these older holdings) and stamps are mostly in-place with paper hinges, but still lots of value for someone looking for a "bit of elbow grease" work project. On our bidboard page you will notice that we have included a declining clock that displays the time remaining in the sale, subject to the addition of overtime. There is an automatic 3 minute bidding extension if a bid is submitted on any lot within the last 3 minutes on the bidding clock. These time extensions will continue to occur until there is a 3 minute period during which no bidding takes place. We expect overtime with this type of bidding will last between one to two hours in extra bidding time. This extra time will allow you to make sure you get the lots you really want.
